Dang, none in Boston so far. Even though I'm retiring I still would have gone.

Oh well. Sneak Peaks are always a possibility for some casual play.

At last! Meet me in St Louis!

This could be a good opportunity for the cookieslayers to strut their stuff.

Time to start really playtesting some strange decks I think.

I am planning on going as well, it's just that the address listed is:
The Gateway Center
One Gateway Center
Collinsville, IL 62234
I am lokking into it now but according to this it is acctually in Illinoies.

This is true! The St. Louis SJC will actually be in Illinois, only 10 minutes from downtown St. Louis. The Gateway Center is actually a very nice facility with free parking, many decent inexpensive hotels within walking distance and many nearby fastfood restaurants. Public Transportation is available to and from the Gateway Center.

Personally, I believe this is a better location than the America's Center and Edward Jones Dome which is the primary convention center in downtown St. Louis. Parking is NOT free and averages about $18.00 per day, not to mention most parking is quite a walk away even in the nearby parking garages! There is no nearby fast food. You have to either eat expensive convention center food and moderately expensive restaurants nearby. There are many nearby hotels, but all expensive; well over $100 per night.

At the Gateway center you can walk outside the convention center and see or walk to your car, just seconds away. The first restaurants and hotels are less than a 5 minute walk! At the downtown St. Louis convention center, it will take you at least 5 minutes to walk outside the complex and 5-10 minutes to walk to your car. There are no fast food restaurants within walking distance that I am aware of. Hotels are within walking distance but still further away and more expensive.

Doc is correct. The Gateway Center is a perfect spot for this event because of all of the things he mentioned. Besides the fact that it isn't very far away from a lot of Team ICON and Team Betrayal members' houses. It's not even that far away from the players who actually live in St. Louis or a suburb. The interestates make it about a 30-40 minute drive from St. Charles to the Gateway Center. St. Charles/St. Peters area is where a lot of good STL players play and even some live in those two suburbs. For me, the Gateway Center is like a 15-20 minute drive depending on traffic. I will be playing on Saturday for sure. If I top 8 the Shonen (got to get lucky), then I will be playing Sunday too. If I don't top 8 the Shonen, then I'll probably be judging either the Sneak Preview or the Regional or side events; whichever Doc or Jon Lacey want to put me on. I hope I can take the level 3 test at this SJC or before; that would be awesome.

No..seriously. What do you THINK I meant by I might walk? The bike trail that runs near the gateway center is in my backyard (and the gateway center is a park and bike lot for the trails)

Sorry, but I love the fact it is right there.

FOR THOSE OF YOU COMING: DO NOT go to the New Orleans hotel. That place is a dump. Oldest hotel in Collinsville though. Not to mention furthest from the Gateway center (still only a mile away). Anyone wanting to know about the area, just ask.
