Woah, Windstorm of Etaqua is coming out. But it's kinda late as Scapegoat isn't run 3x anymore. Oh well, can work with other kinda decks if you make it right.

Riryoku, not a bad spell card. I'll always make your monster stronger then your foe's monster no matter what the case. But of course, still usually not worth it.

Acid Trap Hole


Meh. So it's almost garenteed to kill 1 face-down monster. But usually NoC can do the job just fine.





Mesmeric Control




This is a new card. No clue what it is but I wanna know. (And depending on it's effect, it might be a good card)






 
Not one of those cards are new, not even Mesmeric Control. This is a disappointment from UDE and I am getting even more shakey that so far DPK-ENSE only showed Hero Spirit so far.

Normal Spell

During your opponent's next turn after you activate this card, your opponent cannot change the battle position of monsters.
 
I wanted a Mesmeric Control mainly because it was unique. But if they aren't going to give us what's out in Japan, and keep giving us these cards that are packaged with stuff they know we'll buy... Man, that's just low!

The Silent Swordsman LV5 was ridiculous. Invader of Darkness and Mazera DeVille was an insult.

The only good cards that have come out as variants have been Vampire Lord, The End of Anubis, Judgment of Anubis, Ring of Destruction, Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys, and Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End.

That's just my opinion (Im not a big fan of Dark Magician Girl of any version, would have preferred Blue-Eyes White Dragon instead).
 
Well, Mesmeric Control is not too bad. I have attempted to find the original promo DOD-EN001: Mesmeric Control (Note it was made in the European version of the Dawn of Destiny game, in place of our Ra). This card goes for so much money on Ebay it is not even funny. So does the card DOD-EN003: Widespread Ruin, which cost even more. Due to the high price, I've giving up my endeavors in getting this card, and hope that Widespread Ruin is reprinted as well, probably in another Special Edition.
 
Normally when there's a reprint, i try to be optimistic, and try to find reasons why these cards were reprinted, but this time I can't. UDE dropped the ball this time. If Windstorm had come back out about 8 months ago, then we'd have people clamoring for it. However, now we're all sitting here thinking . . . Next.

I had at least over 10 copies of Widespread Ruin plus the European Super Rare version. All each sold over $25-$30. I know how you feel though because I bought them all when NO ONE used Widespread Ruin and it was like a $2 card. If these cards are Secret Rares, no thank you. I might as well re-buy my Super Rare Mesmeric Control from Europe.

Eek, Mesmeric Control sounds stupid....

I didn't mind Slient Swordsman lv5 too much, but yeah, not that great of a secret rare.

I would SERIOUSLY love it if Widespread became a secret rare instead of just promo. They can even other with DDA, Kinetic Soldier, Slate Warrior, Aybss Soldier, etc. too if they want to.
 
I'm gonna pwn the meta with mesmeric control.

I don't know how yet, but I am.

Thinking one of those few-monsters-heavy-spell/trap-control kinda decks. It could work.

Probably Ultra. The cards (save for Mesmeric Control) were originally released as Secret Rares. The previous sets have shown that some pattern, so it stands to reason they will be Ultra.
 
Since I doubt more than 2 or 3 people on this whole site even have a Mesmeric Control I'm surprised at the venom regarding these cards. Windstorm of Etaqua is another fairly rare card, Riryoku and Acid Trap Hole are all in a relative rarity. They are all useful cards and deserved to have a more general release to get them into the hands of more duelists.

I'm overjoyed to see cards that everyone didn't already have a binder full of getting released in these reprints. I used Windstorm to stomp goats all the time. Would I like to see some OCG cards released as Special Editions? Sure. Has it happened yet? No. But at least they are starting to re-issue useful cards that haven't been readily available. And what is anyone complaining about? A Mesmeric Control was fetching $40-$50 on E-bay a month ago because it was only released in Europe and in short Supply. Windstorm, Riryoku and Acid Trap Hole were all priced above the $10 level so for the cost of the 1 Special Edition you got the card and 3 booster packs (or possibly better).
 
see the problem is that Mesmeric Control was good back in the day.

Remember when i used to look for them? well i couldnt find any hence i never bought it, I found the OCG but even then im like, forget that.
