I honestly love machines. And although i loved Victory Viper, I never used him in the end card of weak stats
Blue Thunder T45
Light/Machine/4/1700/1000
When this card destroys an opponent's monster by Battle, special summon a
[Thunder Option Token] (Light/Machine/4/1500/1500) to your field.
The "Thunder Option Token" cannot be used as a tributed for tribute summon.
Now. similarity. Both are from the game Gradius series, and both are Light/machine with level 4.
Unlike Victory Viper, it have 1700ATK. Although it cannot be searched by Sangan, it's a good thing. The only "weakness" of Viper was the poor ATK stat. The only good effect of Victory Viper was token creations of itself. And that was hard cause of 1200ATK having to destroy a monster by battle. Not to mention, if Victory Viper was removed from the field or flipped face-down, the tokens will all disappear from the field.
This time, Blue Thunder have 1700ATK, meaning it can kill anything short of Cyber Dragon, Monarch, Stratos, Zombie Master, etc. And the created tokens can stay even if Blue Thunder leaves the field. Now the tokens themselves have no effect but a free 1500ATK extra beatstick is never bad. Although not being able to be tributed for tribute summon is bad, oh well. At least it can still be tributed for effects and costs of other things.
This card is like the Machine version of Hydrogeddon. The good thing compared to Hydrogeddon is having 2x Blue Thunder isn't bad while having 2x Hydrogeddon in hand is really bad. But of course Hydrogeddon's effect of getting cards from deck is better then creating tokens cause tokens don't have effect, while those extra Hydrogeddon does. And Hydrogeddon can be tributed for a tribute summon. And the Token have 1500ATK while Hydrogeddon have 1600ATK. (Though Blue Thunder bineg 1700ATK, is better then hydrgeddon)
Good support is the usual Hydrogeddon support, being Shrink, Enemy Controller, and even United We Stand. And being machine, Blue Thunder gets an extra bonus of Limiter Removal as assistance being machine. (And another note, assistance of Cyber Phoenix for protection.)
Good Machine, yes. Cookie Cutter machine? No. It still needs somewhat of a support. (Limiter Removal, Cyber Phoenix, Shrink, to name a few) But a machine version of "anti-recruiter" known as Hydrogeddon isn't a bad thing at all.
In the end, I give this card a
8 out of 10
If the tokens could be tributed for a tribute summon, then YES, ALOT higher ranking. But it's not. A decent card to run in a machine themed deck.
