about monsters on tribute effects

haha this maybe som dumb questions but i couldn't resist

Monsters used for a Tribute Summon or that are offered as Tributes due to other cards' effects are excluded.

cards with that text like that such as Gravekeeper's Cannonholder. but compare that to Cannon Soldier's text which does not state that.

my question is: if i tribute summoned a monster on my side of the field, would cannon soldier's effect trigger?

my other question is: if that were possible, could i tribute the agent of judgment - saturn for a tribute summon for a jinzo, and the agent of judgment - saturn effect activate?

to activate the efct of cannon soldier one must tribute a monster for this efct ONLY; tribute for other purposes(like tribute sumon) will not triguer canon soldier efct

the same goes for saturn

Normally its the rule or even written on the card text itself, that when a monster is tributed for an effect, it cannot also be tributed for a Tribute Summon in the same instance.

Some monsters have effects that will activate in the process of being sent to the Graveyard from the field, like "Witch of the Black Forest" and "Sangan", but do not make the mistake of confusing their ability to pick a monster card from your deck as a summon.

Cannon Soldier
Machine/Effect
Tribute 1 monster on your side of the field to inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points.

Gravekeeper's Cannonholder
Spellcaster/Effect
Offer 1 monster that includes "Gravekeeper's" in its card name on your side of the field as a Tribute to inflict 700 points of Direct Damage to your opponent's Life Points. However, you cannot offer this card or another "Gravekeeper's Cannonholder" with this card's effect. Monsters used for a Tribute Summon or that are offered as Tributes due to other cards' effects are excluded.

"Monsters used for a Tribute Summon or that are offered as Tributes due to other cards' effects are excluded."

Cannon Soldier does not state that, or Exiled Force in that manner.

Player A: offers Exiled Force to Tribute Summon Jinzo
Player B: does not respond to the summoned Jinzo

Exiled Force resolves and destroys one monster card on the field!!! MUAHAHA!!

haha all i need is some clarification i guess of why it wouldn't work....

The Tribute for Cannon Soldier's effect is the activation cost of the effect, so it must be paid in order to activate the effect. The Tribute is being used as the cost for activating the effect, so it cannot be used for other purposes. The same goes for similar cards, like Exiled Force.

the absence of the wording  "Monsters used for a Tribute Summon or that are offered as Tributes due to other cards' effects are excluded." is just a matter of old wording

for all purposes, a monster must be tributed(in case of exiled force) or tribute a monster(like cannon soldier) for its own efct in order to work properly

tribute for other purposes(like tribute sumon) will not triguer the efcts of the monsters mentioned above

thanks woltarr, i forgot cannon soldier was old school cuz im seeing so much of it around these exodia deckz, and that it was just a matter of old card text. lol :D
