Amazon Archer LON-EN032

Earth/Warrior/4/1400/1000

Tribute 2 monsters on your side of the field to inflict 1200 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points.

Yup after visting the sands of Egypt we go into the jungles of the Amazon and we start off Amazoness week with Amazon Archer. Note that its considered a Amazoness card. Just that at the time it came out, there was no amazoness group.

She's was is alternative to using the Cannon Soldier. Both are at 1400 but she give more damage per tribute than him... until Dark Room of Nightmare came along. Regardless she still packs quite a punch. The problem is she has to tribute TWO monsters at a time. Although its fairly easy to get two monsters on the field, for her effect to be used you need three monsters. Two to tribute and one to keep on the field, probably her if you planned on using her effect again. This where Scapegoats and stray lambs come in really handy if you're going for burn. She'll add a little burn to your Amazoness deck depending on how many you use but I'd say she'll be most beneficial to a Burn deck.

Amazon Archer: Lv. 4
{Earth, Warrior}
1400 ATK/ 1000 DEF
Tribute 2 monsters on your side of the field to inflict 1200 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points.

She's a pretty nice card. Her Wannabe Cannon Soldier effect is good, yet not as verstaile as the lil' Cannon's. 2 Tribites MUST be used in order to pull it off. Im not saying it's not as hard to pull it off, with the warriors speed theme. IMO, the effect is pretty Situational.

For Traditional Decks:
I don't know. It won't last for 1 turn (At most 2) on the field, considering all the monster removal in this format. Plus 1400 ATK won't kill much except suicide with a Don Zaloog.. There is Obviously better choices.

For Advanced Decks:
Much more play here. She can get around Messenger of Peace with her 1400 ATK, but she's a lvl. 4, so she's vunerable to Gravity Bind, and Lvl. Limit. Her effect must be used at the right time, like if you have two many goats on the field, or tribute a controlled monster.

Amazoness Deck:
This is where she truly shines. Nice theme card, plus it can be used to cause alot of damage since warrior's can swarm. She can boost the Amazoness Paladin As well. I'll probably won't put more then 2 in the deck though.

Example Deck: 18 Monsters (Current Advance Format)
1 Jinzo
1 Cyber Jar
1 Fiber Jar
1 Exiled Force
2 Marauding Captain
2 Command Knight
2 Amazon Archer
2 Amazoness Tiger
3 Amazoness Sword Master
3 Amazoness Paladin

Spells: 18 Spells
1 Pot Of Greed
1 Change of Heart
1 Snatch Steal
1 Swords of Revealing Light
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Heavy Storm
2 Giant Trunade
2 Last Will
2 A. Forces
2 Fusion Sword Murasame Blade
2 Reinforcement of the Army
2 The Warrior Returning Alive

Traps: 4 Traps
2 Waboku
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Magic Cylinder

Artwork: 4/5 It's neat.
Traditional: 1.5/5
Advanced: 3/5
Amazon Deck: 4/5

*OVERALL* Rating: 3/5

hey archfiend, i thought we started out amazon week with amazoness swordswoman... yesterday...?

like was said, she isnt really great in anything beside an amazon deck, where shes great. i run an amazoness deck as my main deck, and i use one of her. ive found her effect to be quite useful late in the duel and it sometimes provided the extra damage needed for the win. using Gaia Power with this card makes her a pretty worthy 1900 attacker. with tiger on the field, she cant be attacked and tiger gets boosted up power wise.

i wouldnt run her in a burn deck seeing as how there are better cards out there to burn besides her. shes sub par outside of an amazon deck, where she obviously has much more protection.

artwork is pretty cool i guess... shes the only amazon thats actually clothed really... :p

Erm Rowan,
i wouldn't barely call that an amazoness deck..
Where's your dramatic rescue and amazoness archers?
And JINZO is ur tribute?
.....

I remember this card could come in very handy when it first came out, especially to deal that finishing blow to someone that might have a blocker out. I'd often summon her and then have her fire off another creature and herself with that bow of hers, (now that's talent,) and deal the direct damage as the last thing. Definitely a great way to annoy your opponent.

i agree in full... thats more like a cookie cutter warrior deck that just happens to have some amazon monsters in it... no one in their right mind would run Jinzo and two command knights in an amazoness deck.... amazons dont need command knight and jinzo's just... eww.

you want an example of an amazon deck? click the link below on my signature titled "Amazoness Deck"... :p

though, Rowan's idea was pretty cool, but still doesnt exploit the uses of the amazons... (its the traps and spells that make it happen)
