If i have final attack order activated on my side of the field, can my oppoenet still change the battle position of my face up attack monster to defense position?
Final Attack Orders would prevent the manual change of battle position. Monster's positions may still be changed by an effect.
In the case of the title of this thread...
If Final Attack Orders is active on the field and your opponent summons Aqua Spirit, during your next standby phase your opponent will be able to change the battle position of one of your face up monsters....then, Final Attack Orders will change it back to attack position.
This information is viewable through the card registry or on the FAQ specific card questions. Please do your homework before posting questions....thanks!
I know this is right but Aqua Spirit's text is so specific in this aspect: "This card can only be Special Summoned by removing 1 WATER monster in your Graveyard from play. As long as this monster remains face-up on the field, during each of your opponent's Standby Phases, you can change the battle position of 1 of your opponent's face-up Monster Cards. Once changed, the monster must remain in this position for the rest of the turn."
I see the must in the text and it kind of confuse my judgement.
The reason I can think of for the monster to return to defense position is that AS prevents only manual changes. Is this correct?
Both "Final Attack Orders" and "Aqua Spirit" will prevent MANUAL Battle Position changes. Neither will prevent EFFECT Battle Position changes.
This is why you can change the Battle Position of 1 monster with "Aqua Spirit"s effect, AND why the monster will be immediately changed back to Attack Position by "Final Attack Orders" effect, even though they BOTH have a restriction on Battle Position changes.
