Armed Dragon and Night Assailant

if this question has been asked them forgive me, just post the link :D

Now I know that you cant discard for Armed Dragon's effect without a target monster on the FIELD, BUT...Does the monster discarded have to be the proper attack to destroy the lowest monster on the field? Because I want to use Armed LV7's effect combined with Forced Requisition and an Assailant in hand and in the grave to drain my opponents hand if they have a face-up monster. I hear rulings going both ways so I figured Id ask here. I see nothing on the card(s) that says I cant...

No you could not pull off that combination. The reason being is that to use the effect of either "Armed Dragon LV5" or "Armed Dragon LV7" you must send a card from your hand to the graveyard. For "Forced Requisition" the only works when a card is discarded from your hand. Because the wording is specific, sending a card from your hand to the graveyard is not the same as discarding a card.

Are you serious?! Surely it should make no diff regardless of whether it says "send or discard"...They're the same thing! :|

I am very serious. Send <> Discard. They are considered 2 different things. That is why cards like "Electric Snake" were errata-ed. Their effect only activates when they are discarded to the graveyard (by the effect of say "Confiscation" or "Card Distruction") and not merely sent to the graveyard (like the effect of "Last Turn" or "Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End").
