Asura Priest

( is there a proper way to review a card? )

I just wanted to say Asura Priest is the man. Here's a wierd combo (super hard to pull, let alone having the right card or even incorporating one)

Opponent side of the field: Sacred Phoenix, Jinzo, Airknight.

you: nothing.

Play Level Limit Area B (can't play Zero or Windstorm because of jinzo). Turning all your opponent monster to def. Play heavy Storm. Send in Asura Priest to finish the job.

or play Stumbling so when they summon Jinzo or Phoenix, they'll go in Def. Then flip your Asura to finish the job. (another super hard to pull stunt )

Asura Priest, can be a life saviour and a great scapegoat killer. On another site, someone created a possible OTK with this card. All it required was the following

Asura Priest
Ojama Trio
Black Pendent
Final Attack Orders

or if they have just used scapegoat, just

Asura Priest
Big Bang Shot

The first combo uses Ojama Trio tokens which are then changed to atk position with Final Attack Orders. Then all that is required is for Asura Priest to be equipped with Black Pendent (Atk 2200) and attack all three tokens, inflicting 6600 points of damage, plus an additional 900 for each ojama token taking it to 7500, then at the end of the turn when Asura Priest returns to your hand, Black Pendent goes to the graveyard and inflicts the final 500 points of damage and wins the game.

The second is just an alternative that deals with scapegoats, quite effective and you can inflict damage without having to worry about switching the scapegoats to atk mode.

A great card that can have quite a few useful tricks added to it.

Wow.. i never thought about that. However, I was just wondering what happen to the magic card Big Bang Shot if Asura Priest returned to the hand or any magic card that equip to him.

It would no longer have a monster to equip to and so would be destroyed and sent to the Graveyard via game mechanics.

 

[Utopia]

Asura Priest destroy all the MRL family with its destructive effect. So whatever it goes out, it go to graveyard.

Stumbling would not work though, if you didn't destroy before summoning Asura Priest.

We used to use Asura Priest with Horn of the Unicorn. As long as Asura Priest wasn't destroyed you had a 2400 atk monster each turn

Throw in a Luminous Spark on top of that.

Nice idea, only problem is that Horn of the Unicorn returns to the top of the deck :-s. But a nice combo none the less.

Think that was the idea, since Asura returns to the hand and HotU returns to the top of the deck, you'll once again have both in your hand to play the next turn too. Is a problem if you can't do something to stop your opponent drawing though as it'll only be a matter of time before they get something that they can use against this combo.

For the original combo, try using Earthquake to switch them instead of LLAB, because then you need LLAB and Heavy Storm
