Banisher of the light?

Banisher of the Light's effect is continuous. His effect is always happening so long as he's face-up on the field.
For your question in regards to Reasoning, I will turn it over to Netrepâ„¢ for the answer:
Rule 16:
[Re: Reasoning] If "Banisher of the Light" is Special Summoned with "Reasoning", the other cards picked up for "Reasoning" are sent to the Graveyard. The effect of "Banisher of the Light" is not applied until after "Reasoning" resolves.
However, if Banisher of the Light is already on the field when Reasoning is activated, the cards will be discarded out of play. Much like how discarding from your hand sends cards out of play instead of to the Graveyard. Anyone wanna back me up on that?

Banisher of the Light has a continuous effect. If Reasoning is activated all cards before the special summoned monster will be removed from play if Bannisher of the Light is face up on the field.
