Perhaps it's just me, but it seems the Battle City Trading forum has lost some momentum in the past few months. Maybe it's due to Andrew's departure, or maybe it's due to other factors. Either way, I assure you that Chaos General and myself are doing everything we can to uphold the sterling reputation of the forum and to make sure your trades are successful and pleasant.

For those of you who have trading threads, I commend you. Most, if not all, are within the guidelines set forth by the sticky post and the Announcement post found in the header. As you all can see, traders have had lots of success trading here, myself included. Being the 2nd highest rated trader (and highest active one) on the site, I can assure you that the group of people we have here are honest and fair and pleasures to trade with.

For those of you who have threads but do not keep up with them... why not? Have you had bad experiences in the past? Is your "HAVES" list a little thin as of late? Are your "WANTS" not all that important? Whatever the case may be, I encourage you to be active in trading. Just because you don't hold something of yours in high value doesn't mean someone else feels the same way. You'd be surprised what people are looking for sometimes. With the Meta in a current state of uncertainty, you may see more people actively trying new things and therefore opening up playability of older cards that were once considered "useless."

And last but not least... for those of you who don't have a trade thread... why not? As I stated above, just because you don't hold something of yours in high value doesn't mean someone else feels the same way. Get your HAVES/WANTS out there and someone is bound to see something they like. If you're having doubts about trading online with someone you don't even know, please put them to rest. My personal experience trading here has been tremendous and always pleasant and fair. With myself and Chaos General moderating the forum, you can be certain that if you do come across a problem we will do everything we can to fix it.

Please, I can't emphasize this enough... when you start a new thread, keep it within the guidelines. What guidelines you might ask? Here they are:
- The_Sticky_Post
- The_Forum_Guidelines

I know I'm being long-winded here, but I just want you all to be able to experience the same joys I have by trading here. It's nice to not only get what you want, but to help others get what they want in return. It's very fulfilling and I hope you'll participate.

Amen? Yes sir, well written, and so true. Actually, sir, it seems as though all the YGO forums have slowed over the past 6 months. When I first began reading through the CoG, if you posted a deck, it would have a reply within half an hour of it being posted, if not sooner. That doesn't seem to be true anymore. Why?

PS have you gotten the cards yet?

forums tend to move in cycles, from what I have seen. Many participants, such as myself are active on more than one site. As such, I tend to rotate week to week from one place to another. That is why my appearance here in the City is sometimes sporadic.

As for the trading, I would love to participate, but my location in Guatemala tends to make many traders nervous. I get asked to send first for trades that are very much not in my favor, as some kind of compensation or security. This in itself makes me nervous, when dealing with cards like my BLS, Horus, DDWLs, etc.

Perhaps one day, when Im back in the States, Ill try to be more active in the online trading routine.

<off topic> Well, it is possible that people are not afraid of you, but for you. If they are like me, they probably are not familiar with the intricacies (sp?) of mailing, and are worried that they will have to pay enormous postage, or that they will do something wrong, and you won't get the cards. Perhaps you could post a trade thread containing specific instructions for what to do, and then people might not get nervous. Or maybe you've already tried that, I dunno. </off topic>

trading for old cards got easier in local hobby shops.

heck i dont even trade for cards any more.

most of the time somebody will ask me for something and if i have extra, sometimes not even have extras i will just give up the card for nothing.

really its a card game. you tend to spend a crudload of money on a bunch of cards that you might never end up using. so just give it away.

thats what i do sometimes.

not so long ago i gave a way a breaker, needleworms, Drop Offs, Rocket Warrior for nothing.

really, they just asked me for them and i said, "here you go" :)

well i've tried to be on more lately even though i have a site now[i copied this site and have a trade forum] and i'm trying to recruit members so i've been busy and my trade thread is very thin because i haven't been getting good cards lately and my budget's like a pack everytime i go to the tournement and then i regret it because i can't get food at the sheetz across the street.also if anybody wants to donate some cards from the decklist for my new spellcaster deck i'll pay for postages.

I agree with everything you all are saying.

However, this was merely an attempt to promote more activity in the forum. That doesn't seem to have happened. I see the regular activity of some people and that's great. But I also see threads of some of our more respected members that haven't been bumped and/or updated in quite some time. I also see some of our more respected members without a trade thread, and that troubles me a bit.

Perhaps I'm not going about this the right way. Or perhaps the problem is more latent than I originally thought. Thoughts?

I think BCT is a great way to get good cards. I received some cards from someone on Saturday, and I'm just awaiting him to let me know he got mine.

Highly recommended, as it's a good alternative to buying cards.

well, If anybody wants to trade some Mesmeric Controls, then id trade with them.

basically if anything will catch my eyes, will be either some OCG cards or Some really hard to find cards.

Lady Ninja Yae, Mesmeric Control, etc...

no Kuribohs for the love of everything you hold dear.

See, this is what I was hoping for. Now go throw this into a proper trade thread. :p

But keep the bartering outside of General Discussion. Again, this thread was meant to promote usage of the Battle City forum... and not for anyone's (including myself) personal gain.

Mesmeric Control [DOD-EN001]

[Spell Card]
During your opponent's next turn after you activate this card, your opponent cannot change the battle positions of monsters.

NOTE: This card was released only in the European version of the game. This was in place of Winged Dragon of Ra.

i said they were odd ball wants didnt i.

also, there is something i want to combine that card with.

Level Limit only holds lv. 4 and above.

sometimes i want a certain card to stay in defense or stay in attack.

i dont think anybody will be able to score a mesmeric control. I could easily just go out and buy one, but i dont have a way to go and get it, so if anybody can pull it off, im here, looking around for it.

Ahem... if you are looking for cards, why not create a Have/Want list? :lightbulb Hence the point of the thread, geez.

Atrus of Krondor > Me

But wait . . . why?

When I completed my 5th trade and got my 5th point of positive feedback, my name appeared below all the other 5-pointers. This didn't surprise me much. Presumably, they're ordered that way so veterans to trading stay on top. In other words, you have to actually PASS someone to move in front of them, not just keep pace with them.

Makes sense.

Except that Atrus of Krondor just passed me on the list, without actually passing me. He and I are tied in trade score. Yet he's above me. How is that?
