Battle declarations

The standard starter guide isn't that clear about it, so I thought why not post it here?

When declaring attacks, do you declare attacks for all monsters at once or do you declare them one after another (after one battles, the other one attacks etc.)?

I hope I can get this cleared up before I play my next game of DM.

One at a time. This becomes obvious, if you think about cards that negate 1 atack, or that can be chained to 1 atack. It's for having the possibility to the player that gets his monsters atacked, can respond to each atack, separatelly. It's a lot different from Magic, where the creatures attack at the same time. But on Magic, the creatures atack the player, in DM, a monster atacks the player, but one at a time.

Does the 'Yugioh' way also apply to Duel Monsters, since that is what he was asking about.
