Blast With Chain Question

Ronin didn't have a ruling on this card and I couldn't find anything in the old netrep yahoo list about - so you'll have to forgive me posting this question here:

Does blast with chain get its effect when destroyed face down? Does it have to be set for one whole turn to get that effect or does it resolve anyways (like Dark Coffin)?
Does it get this effect when Jinzo is on the field?

I know what I think, but wanted to make sure.

The only part that states a requirement is the Equipping of the card to a legally targeted Monster to get its attack boost.

Aside from that, whether face-up or face-down, if it is destroyed by a Spell, Trap, or Monster Card effect and sent to the Graveyard, it would gain the second effect.

It must go to the Graveyard after it is destroyed.

This is not correct. The entire effect of Blast with Chain is dependant upon it being an Equip Spell Card. If it is not an Equip Spell Card when it is destroyed, it does not get its effect.

I saw the ruling that it must be face up recently. But as they are two different effects why does it have to be face up? Is there errata, was it translated incorrectly?

To be quite honest, Blast With Chain never says anything about graveyards. It simply says "when destroyed by a card effect, select 1 card on the field and destroy it." Literal meaning says even if it's RFG, if it was destroyed it gets the effect. Does not say face up when destroyed either... so I see KASR's point.

But just because I know him... no it doesn't get the effect because I said so. HAHAHA j/k dude :mrgreen:
