And, the reason being is that Tokens, no matter how they are generated, can ONLY be played face up. They can be manipulated just like any other monster, with the exception that they cannot be flipped face-down by ANY effect.
Remove a Token from play with Black Luster Solder.
Return a Token to hand with Complusory (Tokens removed from the field are removed from game).
Tribute Tokens for Tribute and Special Summons (In limited situations).
Use with Creature Swap, Different Dimension Gate.
Equip Spell Cards to.
The list goes on. Just no flipping face down.
