bout breaker'z

i kno most cost effect monsters have priority, but, how does breaker have priority? i dont get how this monster card has priority if he has to resolve his effect b4 he getz a counter.

first my opponent summons breaker, then i chain . . .

player A: summons breaker
player B chain 1: activates torrential to the summoned breaker
(nothing gets played)
(resolving steps)
step 1: breaker is destroyed by torrential
step 2: no counter is placed on breaker cuz he is now destroyed

you really should read the answer i posted on the other thread before posting another. Both of these actually do fall into similiar categories.

YOU have priority, not breaker. Upon successful summoning of breaker, its primary effect will trigger, which is the placing of a counter. Then you pass priority to your opponent to respond to the summon/effect. If torrrential tribute is the poison you choose, then it is put into chain link 2

Chain Link 1 : breaker getting a counter
Chain Link 2 : torrential tribute

Resolve backwards

Torrential tribute destroys the field
breaker doesn't get counter because he is not D-E-D, ded. =) (i just love that movie)

I'm just going to add one thing on - Priority doesn't mean you get to USE the effect first...just that you get to activate it first (and "attempt" to use it). If you can't resolve the effect when resolution rolls around, because of, say, Torrential, well.... as a professor of miine used to say: "Life is tough in the big city."
