This just came across the Judge List Wire. I will just post the relevant part:
Question
2. Vs. Threatening Roar
I know that if Waboku is used against Elemental Hero Wildheart, Waboku is not negated of course because it affects the damage not the Elemental Hero Wildheart. But what happens if Threatening Roar is used and a player still has an Elemental Hero Wildheart that can attack ? Can he attack with his Elemental Hero Wildheart or he still can't declare an attack with any of his monsters during that turn ?
Answer
2)
The player affected by "Threatening Roar" will not be able to declare an attack with "Elemental Hero Wildheart."
WHAT?!?
Let's look at something for a moment.
Swords of Revealing Light
Normal Spell
Flip all face-down monsters on your opponent's side of the field face-up. This card remains face-up on the field for 3 of your opponent's turns. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot declare an attack.
Threatening Roar
Normal Trap
Your opponent cannot declare an attack this turn.
Ok we have 2 cards that say the exact same thing. 1 is for while it's face up, the other is just for a turn but they both say what I bolded. One is a Spell, the other is a Trap. Ok. Now, let's look at one of the "official" rulings from "Silent Swordsman LV5":
"¢ Just like "The Legendary Fisherman" and other monsters that are unaffected by Spell Cards, "Silent Swordsman LV5" can attack normally if your opponent has "Swords of Revealing Light" on the field, and its controller is unaffected by effects like "Toll" and "Gravekeeper's Servant" when "Silent Swordsman LV5" attacks.
So monsters that are immune to the effects of Spell Cards can declare an attack through Swords of Revealing Light, yet monsters that are immune to the effects of Trap Cards CANNOT declare an attack through Threatening Roar?
Would someone please like to explain the logic behind this?
