Wow, I'm actually reviewing a non monster card today in the review.
Anyway, let's see it's effect.
Trap - Normal
Activate only when an opponent's card effect shifts control of a monster from your side of the field to theirs. Destroy that 1 monster and inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK.
Anyway, what does this do. Basically, if one or more monsters is gunna get stolen, you destroy that monster and do burn damage to it's ATK.
Now, you might say, "I lose MY monster, what's the point." Well, like they say, "If your not with me, your against me." Better to lose your monster then getting your monster STOLEN. Seriously, with the popularity of Monarch Control and all these aggro swarm, stealing gotten more popular even if Snatch Steal is banned. I mean, how many times you seen these cards played against you
Brain Control
Creature Swap
Enemy Controller
And how many of them ended up being a game-ender being your own loss. I don't know about you guys, but I lose plenty of games with Brain Control. (At the same time, I won with Brain Control) I mean, just how annoying is it to get your monster get stolen by Brain Control, and they they ATTACK the blasted thing with it yelling, "Saku THIS, yeah, destroy your own monster!" and in constant agony, you don't activate Saku, just for your foe to tribute the blasted thing for a Thestalos. Seriously, that's VERY VERY annoying. Any of the 3 cards above can be countered by the Horse. Not only it doesn't give the foe the monster, but does LP burn. I mean, how annoyed your foe gets when your foe activates Brain Control and you book it. Now see how much more annoyed they get to get bombed by the horse. They lose 800LP, plus ALOT more by the Horse.
In days where everybody is running alot of LP cost by each player running Ring of Destruction, Brain Control, Premature Burial, Confiscation AND one random Stein somewhere in main or sidedeck, LP matters ALOT. Especially against Stein, you want to drop your foe's LP below 5000 as fast as possible. (EDIT) Seriously, this card is a VERY good anti-CC as a counter-tech right now as long as people are gunna run 2x Brain Control in their Monarch decks. I mean, you'll be laughing to see Treeborn Frog get summoned in ATK position, and then they activate Creature Swap just to get BOMBED, and still have that blasted Frog stuck in ATK position for you to ram it against next turn. And YES, you can destroy your face-down with this trap. (Edit)(Cause it destroys first, and then sees the ATK points as it hits the graveyard.) You don't want to give away your face-down Dekoichi or Magician of Faith by your foe activating Creature Swap, might as well BOMB the thing.
Overall, I'm giving this card a
8 out of 10
CC, somewhat yes. Main deck no, but it's a GREAT sidedeck to counter all those players who do nothing but stealing your monsters. Too bad we didn't had this when everyone and their grandma was running Snatch Steal. I'm expecting this and Vanity's Fiend in sidedecks in future Shounen Jump Championship in December when they get legal.
