Chaining to your own cards?

This may seem like a stupid question, but I didn't see it anywhere in the Rulebook. Am I allowed to chain to my own effects? For example, my opponent attacks, I play Dark Mirror Force, he doesn't respond, can I then play Curse of Anubis on that chain? Thanks.

Yes you can chain to your own effects/spells/traps provided you gave the opponent a chance to respond first. If he/she doesn't wish to chain, you are able to. Remember though that the timing must be correct so in your example, there would have to be at least 1 monster in defense position for you to activate "Dark Mirror Force". You can then chain "Curse of Anubis" to DMF if your opponent passed on chaining.

Of course you are. I was dueling some noobs so I got bored so I chained my Magic Cylinder with my own Seven Tools of The Bandit.
