Cyber Twin Dragon CRV-EN035

Cyber Twin Dragon
Fusion Monster (Machine / LIGHT / 8 Stars / ATK 2800 / DEF 2100)

"Cyber Dragon" + "Cyber Dragon"
A Fusion Summon of this card can only be conducted with the above Fusion Material Monsters. This card can attack twice during the same Battle Phase.

"¢ You can Special Summon "Cyber Twin Dragon" with "Cyber-Stein" or "Metamorphosis".

Ah, Cyber Twin Dragon, the mini of the Cyber Dragon fusions. This dude is a 2800 ATK beatstick with a Double Attack built-in. Very, very sexy card right here. You ever noticed that every Twin-something Fusion is a 2800/2100? Very interesting....

Alright, some comboes. Hmm, bringing this beast out via Cyber-Stein can happen, but there are better choices, like tomorrow's card, for example. If you Power Bond this behemoth out, you have a 5600 double-attacker. That's pretty wicked in my opinion.

Alright, this guy's an 8-star, which makes him Morphable, always a good thing. He has 2100 DEF, so he's not going anywhere due to Tsukuyomi. There is no condition for his second attack, so that's even better.

Alright, the bad. First of, he's a Fusion, so that makes him less playable already. He's also fusable by 2 of the same monster fused, so that also takes away from the odds of fusing him, at least Thunder Dragon could search out 2 copies, so it was ready for Polymerization.

When playing this card, I'd also be packing some Windstorm of Etaquas, mainly to put some Scapegoats in Attack mode for LP decimation. *See my sig*. Also, be weary of attacking into D. D. Assailants, D. D. Warrior Lady, Newdoria, etc. be packing some Divine Wraths if you can.

The best deck for this card....THE FUSION DECK, YET AGAIN! But it should be in every Fusion deck as an alternative Metamorphosis card instead of Gatling Dragon.

Advanced: 4/5 Nice here, very nice.
Traditional: 3/5 Mass removal anyone?
Limited: 0/5 See below.
Sealed Pack: 0/5 Here, not happening.

Let's take a look at the first fusion of Cyber Dragon... Cyber Twin Dragon, a card which will undoubtedly see lots of play (if you can get those Cyber Dragons).

The stats are fabulous. LIGHT has it's benefits, and Machine benefits should be obvious. Being 8-Stars doesn't help too much with Metamorphosis, but the 2800 ATK is very nice and even the 2100 DEF is solid.

Before we talk effect, let's take a look at that line that says "A Fusion Summon of this card can only be conducted with the above Fusion Material Monsters." This only means that you cannot use fusion substitute monsters such as King of the Swamp, Goddess with the Third Eye, or The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion. However, you can still use Metamorphosis or Cyber-Stein to Fusion Summon it.

As far as the effect goes, being able to attack twice in the same battle phase has no drawbacks. The attacks don't have to be back-to-back and the "can" part makes the effect optional. But trust me, you won't be passing on that option unless you don't need to. I'll explain why.

Machine decks are a nice math lesson. Limiter Removal makes a 5600 ATK monster that can attack twice. If that's not enough, Limiter Removal stacks. So 2 Limiter Removals gives us a 11200 Double Attacker. And in the rare event you could use 3 Limiter Removals, you have a 22400 Double Attacker. Big Bang Shot or Fairy Meteor Crush = nice game.

Another nice combo is with Power Bond. Power Bond will be reviewed later in the week, so I won't go to far into the uses, but basically you send away 2 Cyber Dragons, Special Summon Cyber Twin Dragon. This makes the attack 5600 already and then you can STILL use Limiter Removal. Going back to our previous algebra class, Power Bond + Limiter Removal (x3) = 44800 ATK. Yes, I realize how hard this would be to pull off, but that's still pretty impressive.

Megamorph is also a nice card to use in a Cyber Dragon deck. And there's always the dreaded Cyber-Stein + Megamorph combo. Heavy Mech Support Platform could also be used, but if you're beefing up your attack that much, chances are you won't need to protect your monsters cause it will be game over anyway. Also of consideration are Fusion Gate, Fusion Recovery, and Centrifugal Field.

Obvious drawbacks to this card are things like Magic Cylinder, Draining Shield, etc. If your opponent activates Skill Drain in the turn you used Power Bond, you still take the damage in the amount of the monster's original attack, too.

Overall, I see a solid card on it's own in Cyber Dragon with more Fusion support being released and easy ways to abuse the Stats, Attribute, and Effect of Cyber Twin Dragon. Simply awesome.

Advanced: 4.25/5 for all the above reasons
Traditional: 2.8/5 cause it's still got the power, but not as likely you'll pull it off
Limited: 5/5 if you can get 2 Cyber Dragons and Power Bond, but good luck... 0/5

Although you can't use The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion for a fusion summon substitue, the summoning effect of the Hexes is not a fusion summon. So you may tribute The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion and Cyber Dragon to summ Cyber Twin Dragon.

If you have no monsters on your field, but your opponent has one or more monster, special summon Cyber Dragon by its effect and then normal summon The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion.

Also since the power of this card is divided by 2 attacks, while going for a OTK, you CAN risk attacking while your opponent has 1 s/t face-down.
If a Limiter Removal doubles the Attack of Cyber End Dragon and you run into a Magic Cylinder you lose the game. But with Cyber Twin Dragon you could still have 2400 Lifepoints left, and still be able to attack your opponent for 5600.

(and Mystic Wok could get those Life-points back for you before Limiter Removal destroys your Twin Dragon.

Why not wait until EEN and get Level Limit Area A? Force the goats to STAY in attack mode.
