Dark Grepher

I'm a little confused and unsure...

Is the effect of Dark Grepher considered a cost or will it allow you to discard Sillva or Goldd for their effect?

The summon conditions sound like a cost to me. But the effect reads like it happens at resolution.

Which part of the effect are you talking about?

It has like 3.

Two of them sound like a cost and the last one I'm not sure.

[info]You can discard 1 Level 5 or higher DARK monster to Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, you can discard 1 DARK monster to send 1 DARK monster from your Deck to the Graveyard[/info]Dark Grepher? I only see two effects, a summoning condition and a discard effect.

The first effect is a Summoning Condition. It is not a card effect. Dark World monsters will not activate.

The second effect has the discard as a cost. It is not part of the effect. Dark World monsters will not activate.

What do you call removing the monsters to Special Summon "Chaos Sorcerer", or "Gigantes"?

Summoning condition or not, Summons still have costs....

I was referring to the second effect. As I said above, the summoning condition looked like a cost.

The new template for costs seems to be do 'x' to do 'y'.

Would that be retroactive for older card templating, or just for recent stuff?

Unfortunately, it is only applied to the newer cards released at this time. You may be able to find a few instances where things match up from older cards, but that would most likely be just sheer luck....lol.
