he will go to the RFG pile. Also, he creates Chain Link 1 once he is summoned, if he is the last even to occur. He only misses his timing if his summon occurs in the middle of a chain, like by Call of the Haunted chained to something.

Given some of the other rulings relating to SJ, I'd agree with Chaosruler on this one and say yes it would be RFP.
Dark Magician of Chaos will not be removed from play if Solemn Judgment is used to negate it's summon from hand.
It is a Continuous/Trigger-like Effect that requires it to be face-up on the field.

Wait, if it's an Equip Spell Card on Relinquished, it still goes out of play, whereas Equip Spell Cards have no effect, so what I'm trying to say is, he was destroyed and removed from the field while face-up via Solemn Judgment. Or....wait, I get it. Because of Solemn Judgment, he never technically hits the field. Ahhh, I get it. >.< Why did I write that whole bloody thing out? >.<

I'd have to agree with Novastar on this one. I mean Dark Magician of Chaos very clearly states in his effect that "When this card is destroyed or removed from the field, it is removed from play." Solemn Judment destroys him before he ever is considered to have hit the field.
But wouldn't it be considered "destroyed while on the field"? In which case the effect would trigger. After all, it's not in your hand or the graveyard or RFP at that time.

It's not on the field, its still considered in your hand when Solemn Judgment destroys it.

That's what you are negating with SJ, the resolution of that object.
