Dark Magician of Chaos

"Dark Magician of Chaos's" effect (the second one) starts a chain? It seems to follow along the lines similar to "D.D. Crazy Beast," and it DOES look like a Trigger, however so do Crystal Beasts "crystallization" effect.

The relevant text from netrep:
A monster that is destroyed by this monster as a result of battle is removed from play instead of going to the Graveyard.
The bolded part is the important one - you can see this wording on other continuous effects.

The more or less offficial word on it is here: (it's a continuous effect)

D. D. Crazy Beast will probably need an update soon. (And by "soon" I mean in Konami terms, which means "years".)

It's a continuous effect, in the same way that Grave Protector, Macro Cosmos and other such cards have continuous effects. They don't activate; they just point cards in a different direction (they change the flow of the river, so to speak, where the river is where the cards go).

[info]You can activate "Divine Wrath" during the Damage Step because it is a Counter Trap Card, so you may activate it to negate the effect of "D.D. Crazy Beast."[/info]It's a Trigger Effect, since it uses a chain. The OCG agrees on this point.

I thought he was talking about Dark Magician of Chaos.

They do not have the same ruling.

The effect of "D.D. Crazy Beast" is considered a Triggered Effect that can be chained to.

The effect of "DMoC" is considered to be a Continuous Effect that cannot be chained to.
This is why you can't 'crystalize' a "Crystal Beast" monster when destroyed by Battle with "DMoC".
