Dark World Control v.3.0

Hello, everyone. I would like to introduce you all to my newest deck, and what I feel is my best yet. It's playtested quite well so far, but I'm not completely satisfied so that's why I'm turning it over to the experts here. I'm probably my own worst critic and can't see what the problems with it are, so feel free to be brutally honest. Anyways...

Like I said, it's playtested well. It didn't do so hot against Warrior Toolbox (well, I forgot to side Kinetic so who knows) so it has some flaws. It topdecks pretty well, and even when It doesn't, my opponent is usually topdecking as well.

Hey Man,

Dark World Hand Control. Nice. Very Nice. I like the build, looks pretty strong.

Personally im not to sure on the Cyber Jar... I was thinking something more useful could go there (since Cyber Jar can give a field advantage to your opponent), perhaps another Don Zaloog or Spirit Reaper could be more useful or maybe even a Mystic Tomato. But thats just my own pref.

Spells look decent and stable. I like the Dragged Down into the Grave and the Last Will :) Since your playing Morphing Jar and Cyber Jar, might i suggest a Pot of Avarice? It could be the little edge you need.

Well thats pretty much all i see. Looks like a great deck. Keep us posted on how it performs!

-Neil

you know... for some added control, consider Back to Square One ....... it can add a new element to the Dark World if used correctly........
Dang.... this combined with the abilities of the Dark World monsters, plus Don Zaloog could really put a hurt on your opponent...

Just thoughts... but i think that they have some devastating potential to Jack these new Pot of Avarice decks if played right....

Though I do like Back to Square One's effect, it won't combo with Dark World. After all, BtSO is a cost. Don and Reaper hitting the hand, along with Time Seals and Drop Offs and the occasional Sillva effect have been really fun.

Neil, I'm gonna have to disagree and say Cyber Jar is a must. Even if I can't summon Goldd or Sillva when they come out, they are in the hand for discarding. Another Reaper would probably be overkill, but another Don isn't out of the question. I sided him a few times. Pot could be sexy, though. I'll have to try that out for sure.

Thanks guys.

I'd lose the Cyber Jar for Mystic Swordsman LV2. Or something else, whatever you prefer. Cyber Jar is over.

Pot of Avarice works well in Dark Realm decks, graveyard usually fills up incredibly fast and Dark Realm has Recycle-able effects. So I'd off a Gateway to the Dark World for a Pot of Avarice so more of those things stay in your grave. :p

I really think you should rethink your traps. Since you aren't running a Mobius the Frost Monarch (Goldd doesn't count because his effect isn't definite) taking out the two Time Seals for 2 more Dust Tornado's would be benefitial. It'll add to your spell/trap removal that you don't have much of. Drop Offs are fun and all but a third Sakuretsu Armor would give more advantage (off the top can put something in the graveyard for a Chaos Sorceror or Premature Burial/Call of the Haunted, Pot of Avarice, so not exactly a good card in this format; Sakuretsu Armor potentially does the same thing but you get a plus one advantage and they wasted their summon, I'll quit babbling about this) the second Drop Off should probably go out for a Bottomless Trap Hole.

Hope I helped.

Some good suggestions, Complex Mind, and will defintely require some playtesting. A 3rd Sak seems like overkill, personally, but I've seen others pull it off so the least I can do is try it. I'm all for the Mystic Swordsman LV2 addition (perhaps for that Cyber Jar) and that would give me an excuse to run Reinforcement of the Army in the main deck, which would replace Last Will. Gateway for Avarice seems pretty solid, though I'll have to try it out first since I haven't even run PoA yet. I'm gonna have a hard time letting go of those Time Seal/Drop Off, but I will keep you guys posted. So far, they've been brilliant.

Thanks for all the ideas!

Dark World Hand Control Huh? I like. It seems that the "Dark World" phenomena is getting bigger elsewhere. I have a Dark World deck as well, but mine is Dark World SMASH. :). Well, . . . I agree with takin' out the Cyber Jar for a Mystic Swordsman LV2, . . . he gets rid of ANNOYING conservative plays, like setting a D.D. Assailant. I'd take out the Broww, and put another Brron in instead. The Last Will is nice, but I'd replace it with a Creature Swap for use in getting off Dark World 2nd effects with Morphing Jar. I'll have to post up my deck for some pickin' @ in a moment. Oh and change out the Brron in sidedeck for something else, . . . like a Elemental Hero Wildheart or something. The rest of the deck is perfect though.

Add one or two more Broww, Huntsman of Dark World, as I see you focuse in hand control. Maybe add 1-2 Scarr, Scout of Dark World to search your deck for those browws or other dark worlders. Well, surprised you're not using Dark Necrofear, all dark worlders beeing fiend and all, but maybe it doesn't fit that much in your theme. Other than that, a very intresting deck!

A.

Yeah, I built one this morning using a Dark Necrofear. Man that was sweet. My opponent used a Card Destruction and I was off to the races. I am amazed by how fast one of these decks can move. I do like how you used the warriors in there. Lots of control possibilities. Nice Job Jathro!!!!

hmm..mayb a pair of Mystic Tomato? im kinda brain dead rite now....
You know I was thinking about turning it into a bit of Tomato Control. I already run a pair of Dons and Reapers. I could see adding a couple Newdoria and some other stuff. Instead of a Warrior Control element, it could have a Tomato Control element.

Thoughts on that?

Why didn't I think of that? You should definetly turn this onto a bit tomatoish. I would say remove Exiled Force , d.d. and Cyber Jar (great speed, but in contradiction to morphing wich is sweet, cyber is NOT for worlders) and add 2 tomatos. Also, take out Reinforcement of the Army for a --->The Cheerful Coffin<---!!! To tell you the truth, I can't see why you haven't even considered this! And with all the discard and speed provided, you should remove a Silva for a Dark Necrofear for even more manipulation.

Whell, these changes will aid you against your deck's nemesis, the infamus /echo on: Warrior Agro/Toolbox /echo off. For even more against them, add some Wall of Illusion/jeroid/Newdoria and you're all set to pown! (what to take out could be an issue though...) ^_^

Ok, so with a regionals this Saturday, I need some quick fixes. Here's the most recent version. Thoughts?

You can see the differences since last time. I'm a little sketchy on 2 Brrons, but they've worked well so far. I know 44 is a tad hefty, but I can't decide on anything to take out. A Rival Appears! and Dark Coffin are my own touch of tech; both being odd surprises. A Rival Appears! still needs testing, but I figure it can help me get out a Goldd or Sillva if there's a Cyber Dragon or Airknight Parshath out.

Ok, did you look at the dates of when this was originally posted. And when the last post was? All were way before we switched to the new Ban List...lol.
