hi!

lets say i have 2 goldd in my hand , my opp activates card destruction , he discards his silva or goldds and i discard mine , Do i get to destroy his dark worlds do to the effect or I only get to destroy whatever is on the field already?

thanks!

Both effects activate at the same time and form a SEGOC (Simultaneous Effects Go On Chain). As horrible as that sounds, it's the mechanic applied when two effects activate simultaneously. The Turn Player's Mandatory Effects get placed on the chain first and the opponent's Mandatory Effects get placed on the chain second. Then resolve the chain backwards.

The opponent's Dark Worlders would resolve first, he gets to resolve both parts of the effect. The discard/destroy and the Special Summon.

Then the Turn Player's Dark Worlders would resolve next. The discard/destroy and the Special Summon.

In your scenario, your 2 Goldds go on the chain first (chain links 1 and 2), and then his Sillva and Goldd go on the chain next (chain links 3 and 4). Since he controls those effects he can put Gold and Silva in any order he wants, as long as their link 3 and 4. Then you may resolve the chain backwards just like any other chain.

That was all well and good DJ, but you still didn't answer his question...lol.

When the effect of your Dark World monsters activate in the Graveyard, you MUST choose which cards to destroy with "Goldd"s effect at this time. That means you only get to choose from what's already on the field. You can't choose any of his Dark World monsters that get Special Summoned.

Hope this helps!

Opponent activates Card Destruction. Both players discard Dark World monsters.

Chain Link 1: Opponent's Goldd
Chain Link 2: Opponent's Sillva
Chain Link 3: My Goldd
Chain Link 4: My Sillva

Resove backwards.

My Sillva resolves, is Special Summoned, and returns 2 opponent's hand cards to bottom of opponent's Deck.

My Goldd resolves, is Special Summoned, and destroys up to 2 cards on opponent's field.

Opponent's Sillva resolves, is Special Summoned.

Opponent's Goldd resolves, is Special Summoned.

Um. Am I the only one that noticed that this is not the scenario presented? He said that the opponent activated "Card Destruction" so this should actually be reversed and the opponent doesn't get the second effects, you do. lol ;)

If my opponent plays card destruction and were both holding goldd's what happens exactly and in what order?
Ok, here's how it works...

P1 has "Goldd", "Card Destruction" and 1 face-down monster.
P2 has "Goldd" and nothing else.
P1 activates "Card Destruction".
P2 doesn't respond.
P1 doesn't respond.
Resolve "Card Destruction".
Both players discard their hands, then draw the same number of cards.
Both of the "Goldds" will attempt to activate now at the same time, so their effects will form a SEGOC chain. You build the SEGOC chain as follows:

Turn Player Mandatory Effect(s)
Opponent's Mandatory Effect(s)
Turn Player Optional Effect(s)
Opponent's Optional Effect(s)

So, since both effects are Mandatory, they will look like this:

P1 "Goldd" will be Link 1 (Special Summon only).
P2 "Goldd" will be Link 2 (Both effects triggered).
P2 must choose which cards to destroy at this time, BEFORE his "Goldd" hits the field. P2 chooses P1s face-down monster.
NOTE: P2 CANNOT choose to destroy P1s "Goldd" because it isn't on the field yet and is not a legal target.
P1 must respond to this decision now as well, if they wish to stop the effect of P2's "Goldd".
P1 doesn't respond.
P2 doesn't respond.
Resolve chain.
P2 Special Summons their "Goldd" and destroys the targetted card(s).
P1 Special Summons their "Goldd".
End chain.
Now, since the last thing to have happened was the Special Summon of P1s "Goldd", either player can respond with "Torrential Tribute", or P2 can respond with "Bottomless Trap Hole", otherwise, continue with the Phase and duel!

Hope this helps!

Ah, so this is why Torrential/BTH can't bust Goldd if it was discarded by opponent's effect.
It's because, even though the Special Summon and the "destroy cards" thing are part of the same effect, the Special Summon happens first. After the whole thing has finished happening, according to the game state the last event to happen was the "destroy cards" thing, NOT the Special Summon.
