What does "Cosmic" mean and how it is activated?

Darkseid: As an additional cost to recruit Darseid, reveal a Darkseid's Elite character from your hand.

Remove a cosmic counter from Darkseid -> KO all stunned characters.

Cosmic: Characters cannot be KO'd during the recover phase.

Cosmic is a mechanic that was introduced in Man of Steel.
What it means is that when a character with Cosmic comes into play, it will receive a Cosmic counter. While it has that Cosmic counter, the text after Cosmic applies (In Darkseid's case, while he's got his counter, characters can't be KO'd during the Recovery Phase).
Characters with Cosmic counters will lose their Cosmic counters whenever they become stunned. Also, a character can only have one Cosmic counter on them at a time, and if the character does not have Cosmic, then it cannot receive a Cosmic counter.
