Review:
Another Aussie animal. Wombats have run rabid in TCGs for years now, should YGO be any different? I say no! Bring on more Australian animals! I say Des Platypus next!

Earth, Beast; lots of support on those two fronts.
3 Stars; gets under Gravity Bind and Level Limit - Area B, always a plus.
1600 ATK; Fairly solid, especially for a 3 star monster, with an effect. Only Sonic Duck beats it, and Frontier Wiseman ties it. Won't get under Messenger of Peace, and can't be brought out via Giant Rat, but the Wombat has plenty of other uses.
300 DEF; Well, it's gonna get creamed here, but you take the bad with the good.

Effect; Now here's where this card shines. As long as this card is face-up on the field, all damage done by card effects to this card's controller would become 0. It's a Pikeru's Circle of Enchantment in creature form! Running a deck that burns yourself along with your opponent? Here's your answer. Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning got you on the run with only a Ring of Destruction down that can kill him, but not the life points to survive the explosion? Here's your answer. Playing a different kind of stall against another burn deck? Here's your answer. Opponents running Barrel Behind the Door? Here's your answer. Magic Cylinder? Hah, let 'em waste it. Ceasefire? Wasted as well. This card protects from a ton of damage effects, just remember, it won't protect against costs. Plenty of uses though, plenty of them.

I look forward to this card. A very nice, and quite possibly underrated common. In the right deck, could be devastating.

This card's true use is in a Chain Energy/Dark Snake Syndrome deck.

Dark Snake Syndrome is a perfect example of what I meant. I don't think it would work with Chain Energy though, as that's a cost, and not effect damage.

so many combo so little time to type em all, it will most likely be in the side deck of many duelist since it will stop a burn deck in it tracks i will be add 2 to my side deck when it comes out

you can easily summon it out.

also remember if you ring it, then you still get damage since it must remain face up on the field.

also a Book of Moon can destroy your hopes.

How would you use it against magical cylinder? The monster has to be face up, so the opponent would probably not use cylinder, unless they don't read the effect of the monster.

This guy bring some hope to use against burn deck. It's completely destroy down the definition of burn. Hope there is something similar to curse of forbiding spell to stop this monster.

1600 attack is stronger than D.D. Warrior lady. Even though, it's not speedable, but still gave credit to its wonder effect.

Yes, Des Wombat also prevents damage from lingering effects like Power Bond and Graverobber. It will prevent effect damage of any kind as long as it was and remains face-up on the field when the damage attempts to be inflicted.
