Or should we say, not anymore. 
Up until recently, it became an Equip Spell Card. So if you run into anyone whos adamant about it becoming a Spell Card, direct them to the Official Judges List and they'll see where this revision to the American Game synched it up with the OCG to where it now becomes an Equip Trap Card.

You could just as easily say, "I still say there should only be one chain after attack declaration" or "I still say that once a monster has been turned face-down by Book of Moon it has had its battle position changed so you shouldn't be able to flip summon it." There are plenty more but you get the idea. The problem is we were given the wrong information about these things from the beginning. The OCG rules were doing things the way that the game was originally designed to be played. We got faulty information when things were brought over here and it took bloody ages for UDE to get the news from Konami that we were doing it wrong.

The only reason to say such is that you have been brainwashed to believe that there was ONLY Equip Spell Cards.pssvr said:

An Equip Trap is still a trap so the color is correct. As far as icons many of the cards that become Equips don't have the Equip icon. It could certainly have been wonderful for more icons to have been designed and used on the cards (targeting vs. non-targeting comes to mind), but Konami has certainly proven that clarity and ease of understanding are not priorities for card creation.

Oh how I'd love to see that icon....a bullseye for targeting! <laffin> That would make it SO much easier wouldn't it?

Circa ancient times when it wasn't okay for people to read the bible, you had to get it from priests.
