I'm getting fed up with Monarch decks. Granted these cards are just 2400 beat sticks with a one shot effect but shouldn't they at least be limited.


Maybe I'm just giving in to my annoyance at having seen a rise in Monarch decks lately (I hate seeing the same deck over and over) but something's gotta give with these creatures.
 
i don't think theres anything wrong wit hte monarchs them selves my favourite monarch is zaborg which i use in triplicate but it can be annoying to duel against moarchs whe nthey have a simalur design.
 
Just like every other deck, there is an anti card or two for monarch decks. Mask of Restrict comes to mind. Cannot tribute = no tribute summon = bunch of 2400 beatsticks that can only be summoned via premature, call, or similar effect. But at that point, they might as well be vanillas. Pulling the rug is nice also. Divine wrath for those bold players.

My point here, I guess, is don't complain about the monarch dominance, side against it.....or even build an anti-deck. Bunch of 1900-2000 vanillas w/ mask of restrict, pulling the rug (which also destroys breaker, stratos, and others), etc. I would only suggest this if you know for a fact that the majority of the decks you will likely be facing use tribute monsters like monarchs.
 
It wouldn't be so bad if they never made MORE monarchs (Raiza and the new Dark one) that can target any given card on the field and make it so we don't even have to run as many anymore.
