Dragon Quest VIII......its about time!!!!

Did anyone else besides me love the Dragon Warrior series for the NES? 1 through 4 were released between '85 and '93, but I don't know which years they were released in exactly, only that I played and beat all 4, with 3 being my favorite and 4 a close second.

Then around 1998 they released Dragon Quest 7 for Playstation 1. I never actually got around to playing this one, because after Nintendo I hadn't heard anything about it anymore. And the fact that they made the slight change to the name caught me too.

Now, the newest edition, Dragon Quest VIII, is in stores and is friggin awesome. I got the demo with an issue of Shonen Jump, and decided to try it. When I heard the theme music, I said to myself "THIS IS DRAGON WARRIOR!!!!!!". But I couldn't be sure until I was fighting slimes and bubble slimes and metal slimes......oh, the memories. Sure enough, my first battle was against 4 bunnicorns, but then I heard the level up tune. I was sure. Dragon Warrior is back.

So, has anyone else played this? It is an awesome RPG if you like RPGs. There is an item creation system through alchemy, monster arena where you form a monster team, casinos, and of course, the main quest. And who could forget about saving and reviving in churches? "Confess all you have done to the goddess and I will save it in adventure log".......does it sound familiar?

I guess I'm ranting because I really love this game.....its even cut into my Yugi time, as some of you might have noticed I haven't been posting for like, 3 weeks (incidentally, since I got the game).

If anyone has played this, and has found some Monster Teams with Deathmove possibilities or some interesting self-found not read on a bookshelf alchemy recipies, lets swap! I have a few that are kick @$$

Yggdrassil Dew = Yggdrassil Leaf + Magic Water
Elfin Elixer = Yggdrassil Dew + Magic Water

These are just 2. If anyone has interesting recipies or monster team ideas, post here. If there are enough people who play this game, maybe I (or someone else) could start 2 new threads, DQ8 Monster Arena Teams and DQ8 Alchemy Cookbook.

If you haven't played the game, try it. You might like it. And then I could post all base recipies to make with Medicinal Herbs. Like with 8 medicinal herbs (restore 30 HP to 1 ally) you can make lesser panacea (Restores all HP and cures poison and paralysis) after many alchemic processes.

Medicinal Herb + Medicinal Herb = Strong Medicine
Strong Medicine + Strong Medicine = Special Medicine
Special Medicine + Special Medicine = Lesser Panacea

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Here I will post what I am currently looking for and need to find out, for those of you who could possibly help me......

How do you make Greater Panacea?

There is a monster team of 3 Golem looking monsters. Where do I find them?

Man that sounds cool! I wish I had a playstation. Do you know if they've released it for computer too? Also, I remember seeing something about this in EGM (Eletronic Gaming Monthly). I'll see if I can find it and if there's anything that might help you.
