e-hero tempest practically invincable?

034 Elemental Hero Tempest Warrior/Fusion/Effect
"Elemental Hero Avian" + "Elemental Hero Sparkman" + "Elemental Hero Bubbleman"
This monster cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon. By sending 1 card (except this card) from your side of the field to the Graveyard, select 1 monster on your side of the field. While this card is face-up on the field, the selected monster is not destroyed as a result of battle. (Damage calculation is applied normally.)

So my question is, can he target himself? If so, he would never be destroyed as a result of battle as long as he is on the field.

With My Body as a Shields, this could be friggin' awesome!

Yes, he can target himself from everything I can see. but first you have to bring him out, then you have to tribute a monster, then you have to pack MBaaS too...

Can you say Costly neighbor. How big is this guy? This card practically begs for Miracle Fusion so you don't completely empty your hand/board. Even then you are going to give up a monster on the field for a little resistance to attack? No thanks. I'll play Cyber Blader instead (that chick looks like she can do some serious damage). Megamorph + 2 monsters for my opponent = Muwahahahaha.

because it is, for the most part, redundant. If there is a monster at 2800, your opponent is more likely to use a removal effect than they are trying to attack this monster anyways.

This is why I like playing weenie cards and Hammer Shot :D
