Ectoplasmer
Continuous Spell Card
"Only once during each player's End Phase, the turn player Tributes 1 face-up monster on his/her side of the field and inflicts damage to the opponent's Life Points equal to half of the original ATK of the Tributed Monster."

Just a couple of quick questions.

1) Can Interdimensional Matter Transporter save a Monster from the effect of Ectoplasmer? I guess the real question is, how does the resolution of effects play out?

2) Can you Tribute monsters summoned via Magical Scientist for the effect of Ectoplasmer? I guess resolution is the real question here as well.

The turn player would decide when the effect of Interdimensional Matter Transporter and monsters summoned from Magical Scientist's effect would resolve during the End Phase of the turn, so you could:

1) Resolve Ectoplasmer first, with no monsters face-up on field, then resolve IMT, and bring back whatever monster you removed.

2) Tribute a monster summoned by Magical Scientist effect for Ectoplasmer during your End Phase, then resolve Magical Scientist effect for any remaining monsters summoned.

Would Ectoplasmer effect Spirit monsters like Yamata Dragon since Spirits return to the owners hand at the end phase of the turn or would you have to tribute the spirit monster first.
Again, you (as the turn player) decide which effect will resolve first during your End Phase. If you have Yata-Garasu on the field face-up (as you can only tribute face-up monsters) during the End Phase of the turn, you can decide to resolve the effect of Yata first, or allow it to be tributed for Ectoplasmer and give your opponent a grand total of 100 damage directly to his life points.
