Exiled Force and other Priority (with Ceasefire)

Let's say that my opponent life point is 1500. I have 2 monsters on the field and my opponent has none. On his next turn, he special summon BLS-eob, I responsed by activiating Ceasefire. Does this end the duel? ( 3 monsters on the field x 500 damage each = 1500 lp)

or does the turn player (my opponent) get his priority first and remove one of my monster thus leaving just 2 monster and a damage of 1000lp only.

same case, if my opponent summon Exiled Force and I activiate Ceasefire, is the damage still 1500 or is it only 500 since he would use Exile's effect first, thus leaving only 1 monster left on the field.

isnt there a sticky about priority somewhere? Anyway, your opponent has to declare to use BLS-EotB's effect right when he summons him, as my knowledge of Priority works. That way, he declares hes gonna use his effect before you say you want to activate ceasefire. or something... (i know theres a sticky about priority somewhere... check general discussion?)

to win this duel
player a has 2 face down effect monsters
player b summons BLS
player b declares BLS effect ( spell speed 1 )
Player a chains/activates Ceasefire

resolve
ceasefire inflicts 1500 damage
end of duel
BLS effect never reaches resolution.

same goes does not go for exiled force.

exiled force has an immediate cost to activate. at the time of activation chaining to exiled force would not inflict damage for ceasefire.
and priority in this case would not matter.
player b summons exiled force.
player a activates ceasefire
since ceasefire does not remove exiled force from the field there is no priority to use the effect.
ceasefire resolves
player b cannot activate exiled force to save himself. because spell speed 1 is to slow ceasefire has already resolved.

I am no judge but that would be my understanding of the scenario

The duel will be over. Removing the monster from play is NOT a cost to activate 'BLS-EotB' 1st effect. The opponent WILL have priority when summoning 'BLS-EotB' to activate the effect, THEN you can chain with 'Ceasefire'. 'Ceasefire' resolves 1st, so it's just as you said 3 x 500 = 1500, bye-bye opponent.

Not quite. You can activate 'Ceasefire' even if there are NO face down monsters on the field, BUT at least 1 monster on the field MUST be an effect monster. The flipping part of the effect would not happen, but the inflict 500 damage for each effect monster would still happen.

This time priority DOES help the turn player.
When they summon 'Exiled Force', they have priority to activate the effect of 'Exiled Force', THEN you can chain 'Ceasefire'. Now, the effect of 'Exiled Force' does have a cost, you must tribute 'Exiled Force' in order to activate the effect. So in this case 'Ceasefire' being chained to 'Exiled Force' would only yield damage of 1000 points, since 'Exiled Force' is no longer on the field when 'Ceasefire' is activated/resolved, BUT there would still be 2 other monsters on the field since 'Ceasefire' was chained to 'Exiled Force'.

Scenario:

Player A has two face-up effect monsters and a set 'Ceasefire' from a previous turn.
Player B summons 'Exiled Force' and uses their priority to activate it's effect. 'Exiled Force' is immediately sent to the graveyard, and Player B chooses the monster they wish to destroy with the effect.
Player A chains to the effect of 'Exiled Force' with 'Ceasefire'.

Resolution:
'Ceasefire' resolves 1st. No monsters are flipped face-up, but it DOES inflict 500 points for all effect monsters on the field, in this case the only ones left are both of Player A's, so 1000 points damage will be inflicted.
'Exiled Force' effect will now resolve and the selected monster will be destroyed.

Hope this helps.

What? I just read the posts and there are two different rulings concerning the exiled force.

Well I'm right and EVERYBODY ELSE IS WRONG!!!....just kidding!!

I have been proven wrong a number of times on this forum, but in this case I am 99.9% sure I am correct on this issue.

Somebody back me up!...please!!!

Or knock me off my REALLY HIGH judges pedastal!!!...;)

Thanks!

no, skey, dont worry --- youre right

exiled force has priority to activate as soon as you summon it. since its a cost to tribute it for its own effect, it would already be in the graveyard BEFORE your opponent gets the chance to chain ceasefire. when your opponent does, there are only 2 monsters on the field, not including exiled force. after ceasefire resolves, doing 1000 damage, exiled force resolves, destroying one monster.

skey and i are right, "AND EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG" ~ :p

No, really, im serious. WE are right. ask anyone else... in the words of Homestar "sewiously".
