few question about skill drain

hi guys! i have a few question about effects of certain monster when Skill Drain is active on the field, so...
1) effects of Nimble Momonga, Newdoria and piramid turtle resolves normally?
2)can i normal summon or special summon Berserk Dragon with the effect of piramid turtle or Book of Life?

1) Yes, they do resolve normally, because their effects activate in the Graveyard.

2)

"Berserk Dragon" cannot be Normal Summoned or Set, and cannot be Special Summoned EXCEPT by the effect of "A Deal with Dark Ruler". So "Berserk Dragon" cannot be Special Summoned with "Monster Reborn", etc., even if Special Summoned properly first.

You cannot use Pyramid Turtle nor Book of Life to Special Summon Berserk Dragon.

Your answer is absolutely correct as per the rulings, however, I want to just add a bit of clarification so as to avoid misunderstanding.

Monster effects can still be activated while on the field when Skill Drain is active, they just can't resolve. This is why a player can pay the cost for and activate Tribe Infecting Virus but the effect will not resolve when Skill Drain is active. This is obviously important as the activation TIV effect could be chained to with Skill Drain, Skill Drain would resolve first negating the resolution of TIV. Keep in mind as well that card effects such as Exhiled Force activate on the field but resolve in the graveyard so their resolution is not halted by Skill Drain. If a monster effect is activated and then the activation is chained to with Book of Moon turning the monster face down the effect resolves as well.

Bottomline, Skill Drain only keeps monster effects from resolving if the monster is face up on the field at resolution.

Ummm, I believe Exiled Force activates in the Graveyard, hence the ruling on The End of Anubis negating its effect?

My bad, I'm so used to typing pretty much this same response to Skill Drain questions that I glossed right over that fact. Thank you for the correction. Right idea, bad example after the change!!

It does take some getting used to, but it is starting to sink in a bit I guess.
