Few questions

1. lets say my Alien mother
"If this card destroys a monster with an A-Counter by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, Special Summon the destroyed monster to your side of the field at the end of the Battle Phase. When this card is removed from the field, all monsters that were Special Summoned by this card's effect are destroyed."
kills a crystal beast monster with an A-counter would he be able to use his effect or would alien mother still control him.

2. now i use Brainwashing Beam
"Select 1 monster with at least 1 A-Counter on your opponent's side of the field and take control of that monster. During each of your End Phases, remove 1 A-Counter from that controlled monster. If all A-Counters are removed from that monster, or that monster is destroyed, destroy this card."
and the monster runs out of A-counter would that monster be destroyed aswell my guess is no it would return to ur enemy.

3. now if i use Diamond Dude
"Once per turn, you can reveal the top card of your Deck. If it is a Normal Spell Card, send it to the Graveyard and you can activate its effect during the Main Phase of your next turn. If the card is not a Normal Spell Card, place it on the bottom of your Deck."
effect and the normal card i drew is Different Dimension Capsule
"Select 1 card from your Deck and remove it from play face-down. During your 2nd Standby Phase after activation, destroy this card and add the removed card to your hand."
now would DD Capsule effect still work since it has to be destroyed on your secound standby phase for the removed card to come back to your hand and now that the card is in ur graveyard how would that work my guess is it wont work.

1. the owner of the crystal beast has the option to 'crystalize' his monster destroyed as a result of battle. thus it would not be sent to the grave and alien mother's effect could not be activated.

2. when there are no more a-counters on that monster, brainwashing beam is destroyed and the control of the monster is given back to your opponent.

3. if you choose to activate the effect of different dimension capsule via dude, you do exactly what it says. choose a card from your deck, and remove it from play face down. but since you're activating it via dude, the physical card 'different dimension capsule' is already in your grave. thus in your 2nd standby phase after removing from play that card, there is no copy of d.d. capsule to destroy, so the card remains removed from play.
(note: since it is removed from play face down, if it's a monster, it cannot be special summoned via dimension fusion or return from the different dimension)

You should be able to bring back a monster card in the out of play with RftDD it should not matter if it was face down or face up, right?

Return from the Different Dimension only brings back Monster Cards. If it's face-down in the Removed From Play Zone, then it has no way of knowing what kind of card it is, and can't return it.

I believe only Primal Seed can return face-down removed from play cards to the game. That's because it says "cards" instead of "Monster Cards"/"etc.".

My argument is that why can you tribute a face down Gearfreed for Release restreain, or a face down Lv monster for Level up, and not be able to return monsters with Return from the different dimension. It just makes no sense to me



And on a side note...

If I have a harpies hunting ground face up and summon a Harpie Queen does hunting ground activate or does the name change happens after it is succesfully summoned?

Even though Gearfried is face down when he is tributed and although you are not flip summoning or flipping the monster face up on the field, you still show the card to your opponent before "depositing" the monster in the graveyard to show that the requirements are being met for Release Restraint.

The key is that both players cannot see the removed from play cards. You may know what it is, and even your opponent may know what it is, but the game doesn't. The game knows which cards are in the Graveyard, and the Graveyard is accessible to both players. For Release Restraint, Gearfried goes to the Graveyard as the cost, where it is found to be the correct cost.

Targets need to be correct upon activation. Something like D.D.M. - Different Dimension Master Summons the monsters upon resolution. If you'd picked a face-down card, which turned out to be a Spell Card or something, that would be an illegal activation.

While face-down cards are removed from play, they are "card". That's all they can be, because the game can't tell what it really is. Face-down removed from play cards have no stats at all. Therefore they can't interact with any cards except the ones that say "removed from play cards" (and only Primal Seed says this, so far).

I'm not sure. I'd say yes, the effect of Harpie's Hunting Ground activates (because the name change happens instantly after its Summon).

I don't think so, since the card is never activated (Just the effect activates and not the card itself)

Taken from Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude's rulings -

If "Swords of Revealing Light" is sent to the Graveyard by this effect you can activate it, but only its effect that flips monsters face-up will apply. It will not stop the opponent's monsters from attacking because it is not on the field.
