continous trap:

as long as this card remains face-up on the field, all face-up monsters on the field are changed to attack position and their battle position cannot be changed.

my opp has a previously summoned monster in defense position from another turn. he starts out this turn and plays mst on my f/d final attack orders. i chain to change his monster to atk mode. after mst resolves and destroys final attack order, can he change that monster back to def mode??

No, because the monster has changed battle position already due to Final Attack Order's effect. You can't change battle possition manualy anymore if the monster changed its battle possition by an effect.

You can manually change a monster's position if all of the following are true:
  1. The monster has not been summoned (including flip summon and special summon) or set this turn.
  2. The monster's battle position has not been changed manually or changed by a card's effect (it's own effect or other card effect such as Book of Moon).
  3. The monster has not attacked yet.
