Foolish Thing to Do is Actually Good?

Another review. This card, is an old classic that people wanted for a LONG TIME. It's not "Broken" or anywhere near limitations, but it's a gosh darn good effect for any specific need or combo decks that got to do with anything with the graveyard.

Here's the text.

SD13-EN019
Foolish Burial
Spell - Normal
Select one Monster from your Deck and send it to your Graveyard.
Afterwards, shuffle your Deck.

---------------

Now, what does this do. Hand advantage wise, it IS a -1... usually. Cause you use an effect, and nothing happens at all on field or hand. This card is not a 1 for 1 trade in monster wise either. So why is it good, it's mainly for the seach ability that you WANT it in the graveyard. And with careful selection in specific decks, it equals out a either -0 or even +1.

Now, the OBVIOUS first pick in everybody's head is Treeborn Frog. That thing is always +1 in grave and with the 2x NoCs, people are trying to not set him, but just always discard him straight to the grave instead like with Wing Blast, Lightning Vortex, etc. (Or in the good old days, Graceful Charity) First turn Foolish Burial for Frog means evil for Monarch decks. (Also Dandylion if we had one) But there are other good targets. Namely cards like D-Hero Disk Commander, D-Hero Malicious, or Green Baboon. If you go beyond that, even D-Hero Dasher, DMoC, Jinzo are also good. Almost anything is good if you have a CotH/Preme ready for this card for comboing. Or even something like Il Blud for Zombie decks since they got 3x Book of Life for the support. The possibilities are limitless as long as you get creative.

A fun card that's a potential -0 or +1. Doesn't do much if there's a big hand or field problem. (one of the bad topdecks if you ran out of cards... unless we can pick dandylion, which we can't) But definately one of the best card ever for combo set-ups.

Definately the #1 card that's coming out in the next structure deck.

In the end, I give this card a

9 out of 10

Staple? Nope. Needs a deck that you want to dump something. But good, yes very. Mainly cause there's so much graveyard effects in YGO and this is the best s/t support for graveyard fueling next to Painful Choice (Which is banned) Unlike Card Trooper, which is pot luck for graveyard fueling, with this card, you get to pick THE card you want for graveyard fueling.

Let's not forget about Foolish Burial's usefulness in Fiend/Necrofear decks. Now with the new Max Reloader card, it's a great way to quickly load the graveyard with fiends for Necrofear's special summoning.

I've experienced what this card can do first hand, and it can be extrememly deadly if used right. Dumping things is extrememly helpful in the right deck. Dumping things like D-Hero Malicious, Treeborn Frog, Dandelion (when it comes out), or simply dumping a monster in your grave so you can use Pot of Avarice quicker. DMoC, Jinzo, Green Baboon, even Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus are good choices for this card.

This card will open a whole new era of decks, like quicker Diamond Dude Turbo decks, Evil Monarch decks (drzero7, that's scary.), and even Light and Darkness Dragon decks. The possibilities with this card are endless.

Additional uses:
Feeding a Mudora based fairy deck (now there's a card I havent used in some time)
Feeding not only necrofear (as per horusmaster) but the other 'remove X from your graveyard to summon' cards. Of course, this card is lethal in tradional format where chaos still reigns...
Exodia- both to start a manticore loop and to search out limbs for backup soldier/dark factory return to hand.
Or even just to thin the deck, although I would prefer using thunder dragon to thin with than foolish burial.

I'm sure that there must be some more inventive uses...

I happen to love Foolish Burial in my Gladiator Beast deck. Dump Green Baboon for later, or Manticore for an easy summon. It also makes Gladiator's Return very viable.

I think we're going to see a lot more D.D. Crows, Soul Release, The Transmigration Prophecy, Disappear being mained, sided due to Foolsih Burial.
