Gale and barboros VS. Skill drain

hi all.

just joined but thought i'd get some input on a ruling question i was asked today,

situation: player A plays beast king barboros with no tributes, lowering it's attack to 1900.

player B plays Gale and uses it's effect to half barboros's attack to 950. end turn (for some reason)

question: right, Player A then activated skill drain his next turn. what happens? would barboros go back up to 3000 as normal when skill drain activates....

or would Gale's effect mean it stays at 950?

my thoughts were that Gale's effect has already happened before the skill drain activated, and therefor barboros' attack is frozen.

Correct, his ATK will remain at 950.

The ATK of "Beast King Barbaros" is "locked in" by "Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind", so all previous modifiers to ATK (like the effect of "Beast King Barbaros") are disregarded. Regardless of what happens to that effect, it is disregarded, so the ATK of "Beast King Barbaros" will not change.
