A very under-rated monster with an effect that can cripple any deck that uses discards as a cost. Many people have mistaken this card as a free way to get effects without the discard cost. Little did they realise how wrong they were. Goblin of Greed has a much more nasty surprise for you and your opponent in that neither player can activate an effect that allows discarding as a cost. Potentially this monster could be a dent in decks that use the following

Phoenix Wing Wind Blast

to name but a few. Generally Goblin of Greed shuts down any card that discards as a cost. It's unlikely you will counter all of these cards in one deck, but should you come across a few, you could end up shutting down a few cards in there deck.
The only drawback to using this monster is that it's very vunerable to monster removal in the form of monster effects, spells and traps and it's def means it won't last too long on the field in the current metagame. If Konami produce a Spell/Trap version it would certainly make a good side deck candidate. Next time you are building a deck, have a read over this card you don't know how helpful it might be.
