Good Goblin Housekeeping, need some questions answered..

Ok, some friends of mine where thinking about this combo.

Good Goblin Housekeeping + Emergency Provisions. I was wondering if this is a legal combo. This is how we're thinking it works. First I'll list the Netrep card text of the two cards to help you guys out. Cause as a Level 1 Judge, I am not sure about this ruling I made on this.

Card # FET-EN054
Card Name Good Goblin Housekeeping
Card Type Trap
Is Counter No
Is Continuous No
Card Text
Draw a number of cards from your Deck equal to the number of "Good Goblin Housekeeping" cards in your Graveyard + 1, select 1 card from your hand, and return it to the bottom of your Deck.
Card # LOD-EN033
Card Name Emergency Provisions
Card Type Spell
Is Equip No
Is Field No
Is Continuous No
Is QuickPlay Yes
Is Ritual No
Card Text
Send Spell or Trap Cards on your side of the field to the Graveyard to increase your Life Points by 1000 points per card. This card is excluded.
Ok the combination is based on the new restriction lists we will have, this is to make it legal of course.

You have two Set Good Goblin Housekeeping and a Set Emergency Provisions on the field. You activate both Housekeeping and then activate Emergency Provisions last to make it send both Housekeeping to the graveyard. This is what I want to know.

A) Does it increase life points by 2000 and allow me to draw two cards for each Good Goblin Housekeeping as they resolve while in the graveyard and their effects never were negated, thus allowing them to resolve and allow me to draw my total of four cards?

B) Does it simply allow me to draw just two cards total and gain 2000 life points?

One of these answers is along the lines of the correct ruling. I picked ruling A because it makes complete since that they would let me draw two cards per Good Goblin Housekeeping because they resolve in the graveyard and don't require to be on the field like continuous cards.

If I am missing something here, please let me know where my fault is so I can correct this in my area and better explain it to others that think this card combination.

The answer to this is actually in the card FAQ at the official site already. It's a very legal, and highly nice combo.

Examples:
Activate one GGH, chain Emergency Provisions to it sending GGH and anything else you want, EP resolves first giving you the LP, then GGH resolves, giving you 1 plus the number of GGH in the graveyard at the time of resolution, in this case giving you 2 cards if you haven't played your other one, or 3 if you have.

Best case scenerio, GGH, GGH, and EP set on the field. Activate one GGH, chain the other one, then chain EP sending both GGH's to your graveyard. Chain resolves giving you 2000 LP, then letting you draw 3 cards and putting one on the bottom of your deck, then drawing another 3 cards and putting another one on the bottom of your deck. Deck thinned by 6 cards, hand gain of 4, and LP gain of 2000.

This is probably why it's restricted to 2, or one reason at least, if all three went off at the same time with EP sending them to the graveyard, it'd be 3000 LP, 12 cards drawn, and only 3 put back on the bottom of your deck, for a net gain of 9 cards.

Ok thanks, I wasn't thinking it was on the official site because I got home late from the Preview today and I am still a little tired. You can't really blame me for being tired. XD But thanks. So thanks.

Reading your examples again, just remember it's one plus the number in your graveyard, and resolve them one at a time. You were shorting yourself a card in each case in your example.

Plus, make sure if you chain them, you draw the amount for the first card, then put one on the bottom, then the amount for the second one and put one on the bottom. It may not seem like a huge difference saying draw 6 and put 2 on the bottom of your deck, and draw 3 put 1 on bottom, draw 3 put 1 on bottom, but it could be crucial if they draw 3 really good cards and have to get rid of 1 for the first one, then the second one gives them utter crap for what they need. If they'd draw 6 then put 2 back on the bottom, they can keep all the good ones and toss the crap back.

Yeah, I don't blame you on that. Someone on here had mentioned the rulings had been posted a few days ago, so I went and checked up on just about everything playable at the preview. It helped me go 3-1 in my flight with some rather bad drafts, at least compared to my friend, which is who beat me, since he got 3 of the 1900 ATK insects and 2 Sentry Golems, which I taught him to use. Even though I got lucky getting a Lightning Vortex from one of the packs, I didn't have enough protection from the beatsticks and he just creamed me. At least I know I taught him well, both of us went away with 4 extra packs.

Well, when I say thinned by 6 instead of 4, most likely the 2 cards you put back on the bottom of your deck aren't going to be very useful to you at the moment. Technically, yes, you've only thinned it by 4, but you've gotten to see 6 cards out of the 34 or less you still had in your deck after the first turn, which I'd consider more an advantage than discarding, as it slows down deckout, if you actually have that as a possibility. I think it's better than discarding, personally.

Yeah. Well I got 4-1 in my Flight and got extra cards. XD It was so much fun. Didn't get Sacred Phoenix like this kid got. Friggen Ultimate Rare version too. Everyone was bugging him too.

But I did manage to pick up some nice cards as well. Chiron, Phoenix Wing (Ultimate Rare too), and Blast Magician were my biggest pulls. Still all three are good cards for what they do.

But thanks on the ruling and now I have some research to do. Also, I got to meet a really cool level 3 Judge that comes on this message board. He is John Danker.

Blast magician is great.. he is definitely going into the Spellcaster deck... that and Lightning Vortex... for sure

I cant believe all the great cards in this set. I may have to make an Earth / Rock deck sometime soon. IF (and its a big IF) i can get my hands on the Pheonix God... what an addition to a fire deck....woot woot
