You can activate this card's effect only when "Necrovalley" is active on the field. When this card attacks, you can change the battle position of 1 face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field.
My personal favorite of the gravekeepers. This guy's effect even works if Imperial Order or Spell Cancellor is the field. And what's best you can use the effect on the monster you're attacking. With Necrovalley on the field, beatsticks have to fear this monster, especially if there's a spearman around. Most attackers don't have such a good defense like Luster Dragon or Skilled Dark Magician. And a lot of tribute monsters have strong ATK but less than stellar DEF (i.e. End of Anibus, Skull Archfiend, Blowback Dragon, Patrician of Darkness etc). OR you could switch their defenders into ATK mode. Say goodbye to Gear Golem, Battlefoot baller, and the like.
And if the opponent is using Spirit reapers, they're gonna cry. This guy's effect targets but why spoil it. Here it is straight from the ruling:
If "Gravekeeper's Assailant" attacks, and activates its effect to change the battle position of the opponent's "Spirit Reaper", then "Spirit Reaper" is destroyed by its own effect. Then a replay occurs because the number of monsters on the defending player's side of the field was changed. In this case, "Gravekeeper's Assailant" can attack again, and can activate its effect again.
Isn't that sweet? You destroyed their monster AND You get declare another battle with it and activiate his effect again! Another monster to get sliced. Even if the attack is negated the effect still goes through so you still switch the monster to whatever mode you want. So they better have something else besides Magical Cyclinders or its counterparts if you have another monster to pick up where Assailant left off.
Obviously at 1500 atk he won't last long and if Necrovalley is getting negated by Imperial or whatever, 1500 won't stop attack monsters with decent def (i.e Jinzo, Spell Canceller, Hades, Vampire Lord, and many more).
I don't think I have to mention the artwork. It speaks for itself. Its the best outta all the Gravekeepers. Now if only they kept Assassin instead of changing it to Assailant. Assassin
