Hand of Nephthys & Torrential Tribute

Player A summons Hand of Nephthys.
Player A declares that they are using their priority.
Player B activates Torrential Tribute.

How would this then resolve?

Would Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys come out because the tributing of the monsters is a cost and therefore would still occur, or would Player A have no monsters left to tribute for Hand of Nephthys effect?

I believe that the Pheniox would still get Special Summoned, since the effects would resolve as a chain with Torrential Tribute being step 1, and Hand's effect being Step 2. It would look something like this:

Step one: Torrential Tribute is resolves, destoring all monsters (expect hand, and the other monster used to Special Summon Pheniox since they are already in the graveyard- remember, costs occur at activation, so they would have been tributed arleady.

Step two: Hand's effect resolves, since it was activated properly, and the monster itself does not need to be on the field for its own effect to resolve (actually, with hand this is not possible). Thus, Phenoix is special summoned properly, and will be the only monster left on the field when the chain is complete.

I have to agree. Your responding to the summon of Hand of Nephthys but chaining to her effect with Torrential Tribute. Neither effect requires the monster summoned to remain on the field for resolution of thiere effect. (Like Tony said, it impossible in Hand's case.)

Hand trib effect is a cost, so as soon as he call proity the monster would be tribled,

Chain 1 Hand (trib 2 monster as coast)
chain 2 (torrenial trib)

resolve

Tronenial trib gose off killing eveything else on the field
then hand effect resolve summoning phonix
