"Harpies' Hunting Ground" Manditory effect?

"Harpies' Hunting Ground" Manditory effect?

Harpies' Hunting Ground
Field Spell

When "Harpie Lady" or "Harpie Lady Sisters" is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned to the field, destroy 1 Spell or Trap card on the field. Increase the ATK and DEF of all face-up Winged Beast-Type monsters on the field by 200 points.

So if I normal/special summon "Harpie Lady" or "Harpie Lady Sisters" does that mean I must destroy 1 S/T card since it doesn't say "you can destroy...".

And also if so, would that mean if HHG is the only S/T card on the field, I have to destroy that?

Yep you hit the head right on the nail :D

aslong as you do not summon a harpy lady or harpy lady sisters while this field card is active, then you dont have to worry about nothing but the winged beast 200power boost.

but, now say you dont have nothing and the only card active is the field card, then when you summon a harpy lady or sisters then you would have to destroy it.

but remember, since its a field card it also works for your opponent.

Re: "Harpies' Hunting Ground" Manditory effect?

This was asked on the mailing list and the answer was

Yes. It is a manditory effect. So if "Harpie Hunting Grounds" is the only Spell/Trap on the field, and you special summon a "Harpie Lady" or "Harpie Lady Sisters", this card is destroyed.
