a fellow judge and i are arguing about different dimension capsule. he says that your oppenent gets to know what the card searched for is. i have showed him a page from the [judge-yu] section stating that if a card searches but doesnt give a restriction for the seach than your oppenent doesnt get to know. please someone knowledgeable answer us.

Your opponent does not get to see what card has been selected, as it is removed from play face down. It is also important to note that if DDC is destroyed before the 2nd standby phase the card that you selected stays face down, and is not public knowledge (your opponent can't look at it, unlike your normal, face up RFG pile).

im right then... but sorry he thinks your wrong also because your only a lv 1 judge like i am. is their anyone out there that he will believe???

If he chooses not to believe Steve Okegawa's answer, I suppose he could write a letter to Konami of Japan on the matter. Of course, he would probably have to learn Japanese, but you're not going to get more official than that. In essence, you've already found the answer from the highest authority we have right now.

And to make matters even more clear DDC From the beggining requests the user to place it face down while out of the game, so it makes sense that once destroyed it remains face down

Do have their address and know a good translator for writing kanji perhaps? I have another issue I'd like to send to them, lol

Well, 3 seconds on Google and I came up with this page:

https://www.konami.co.jp/inquiry/cgi-bin/inquiry02.cgi?PAGE_NAME=product

You could ask them where to specifically direct inquiries for their CCG product line.

(Yeah, I know it says "Konami Broadcasting" at the top, but that form came from a link that said: "Computer & Video Games / Toy& Hobby / Arcade Games / Casino Gaming Machines" on the "Contact Us" page)

edit: anyone wanna bet they say "contact UpperDeck Entertainment" ?

He thinks I'm wrong? Does he play and or judge at least once a week? Is he one of the top 20 ranked players in his state? Has he qualified for this year's Nationals? PM me with this guy's email address if you would; i'd like to talk to him.

On another note, how is this guy a level 2 or higher judge if he doesn't know a basic ruling like this?

Do a search here on the official judge's list for Different Dimension Capsule or this quote may surfice.

Quoted from the judge's list....

Whenever you are taking a card from your Graveyard or Deck, you must reveal it to your opponent.

However, this only applies when there is a limitation on the type of card you can choose. If an effect tells you to take ANY card from your Graveyard, or Deck, you do not need to show it to your opponent (example: "Different Dimension Capsule").
The reason it applies to cards like "Sangan" and "Reinforcement of the Army" is to prevent cheating, as well as to promote good sportsmanship.

Haha...I was wondering why my name was being mentioned while I had yet to post in this topic. ;)

Honestly, though, if your friend doesn't believe that anyone in this thread is knowledgeable enough or correct on the matter, then he's beyond anyone's help.

It doesn't take a Lv 3 judge to figure that it doesn't matter what's removed from play as Different Dimension Capsule gets ANY card from your deck. You only see cards for Sangan, Witch of the Black Forest and others because they search for a specific type of card. Either a Monster, Spell or Trap. You have to show your opponent that you didn't search for anything other than the specified type. But there's no way to cheat using DDC, unless I seruptitiously search through my Fusion Deck

EDIT: Sorry John. I waited like a year before I posted what I'd typed. I hope you don't think I was taking a dig at you.

oo there is a way. lol

okay the answer is written up, they the person doesnt belive then its their own self ignorance.

the answer is written and stated as the correct one. Nobody here seems to be going against it. so lets continue on with life and can somebody please explain to me how is it that Blue eyes can attack again after using burstream of destruction and then later activating Non spellcasting area?

Non-Spellcasting Area places a condition on the BEWD; that it is uneffected by spells. The NSA was activated after the Burstream, so its effect takes precedence. Just like if you activated a Level Limit - Area B when Final Attack Orders is in play; the monsters will still switch to defense position.
