Hey if this happened to you?

This happened to a friend of mine at our local tourney, and what happened was that my friend and his opponent both forgot who won game one, so the head judge, decides to flip a coin, which I think is unfair because they couldn't remeber it so, the way I would have dealt with it is to give a double game loss, and make the players play a Sudden Death game to be fair I just think the judge was doing this improperly and I just wanted to know what you guys thought.

I also think this is unfair as it could cause prblems later on so i think it should have gone to sudden death or just have one more duel to decide the winner.

I have never heard of a match being decided by a coin flip nor can it be found in any rule book. As neither player obviously kept track of life points, I would have ruled a game loss for both players and given them both warnings. Players are required to keep track of life points.

At a premiere event, I'm willing to be they would have been issued a double game loss and no sudden death match. <Wondering what would John have done>

I would have to agree with Digital Jedi. If either players can't remember who won, I would give them a double game loss and then continue with the match. It should be there responsibility to keep track of both players life points.

I also agree. Give a double game loss, and let them play game 3 out. If game 3 went into time or began after time was called, then end of match procedure (not sudden death). But ONLY if it was after time should have been or was called.

EDIT: I realized I put (sudden death) instead of (not suddden death). WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!
