Horn of Heaven (was Torrential) vs. Ritual Monsters

Just wondering, if you can not use Torrential on a Special Summoned monster that is not summoned by its own effect does that mean Ritual Monsters aren't able to trigger Torreitnal Tribute?

Unless the situation is similiar to that of a forced flip of cyberjar in the damage step, you opponent will have a chance to respond to any summon of you, the turn player.

Even if you use a ritual summon or premature burial, i do have a chance to respond to it with torrential tribute, bottomless trap hole etc etc etc.


This is unless you can bring out Jinzo in a chain with COTH or you're reborning Jinzo itself. =)

Cards like Torrential and Trap Hole are activated after the summon is completed.
It's not like Horn of Heaven and Solemn Judgment...

I would say Horn could not negate/destroy Ritual Monsters since it was not special summoned by its own card effect.

One would think this would also apply to fusion monsters as well...

Solemn Judgment is fun card, and one people should at least Side deck. With Chaos Monsters, Horus and other Special Summon Nasties running about, and with Imperial order gone you need some more Stopping power. Solemn is an All in one Wonder card. Only thing that would make it better is it could negate attacks too :D.

Must be re-mindful though, if you do negate the Ritual you do not have to tribute for the Ritual Monster. So If I negate your Masked Beast Black Illusions Ritual card you do not have to tribute or offer one Levels worth of monsters.

You can use Solemn Judgment only in monsters that are Special Summoned by their own effects. Dark Necrofear and The Fiend Megacyber are an example.

Solemn Judgment cannot negate Horus LV8 Special Summon, since it is part of the effects of Horus LV6 or Level Up!.

Solemn Judgment should:
- Negate the Tribute Summon of Horus LV6, if possible.
- Negate Level Up! if used on Horus LV6 or LV4.

You see, I didnt Say which Horus now Did I? I could have meant Level 6. I didnt Have to specify if horus LV 6 was special summoned either by his effect or by Premature, and or such.
