Horn of Heaven

1. Can I use Horn of Heaven on a Jowgen brought out by Shining Angel's effect?

2. If I Book of Moon my opponent's Dark Necrofear, can I Horn of Heaven when Necrofear is Flip Summoned? And if so can that Dark Necrofear be brought back by Premature Burial, CoTH or Monster Reborn?

Thanks, I was trying to explain to 2 duelists yesterday that the "Special Summon" was not negated just the "Flip" summon. But one kept referring to the NetRep rules and said it couldn't be brought back by Premature because Special Summon monsters destroyed by Horn are not considered properly summoned.

For the first question, Shining Angel's effect occurs in the Damage step and Horn of Heaven/Solemn Judgement cannot be activated in the Damage step (as far as i remember).

With the second question, this proves to be interesting. Despite the fact that you did remove 3 fiends to special summon it before it was hit with BoM, once you flip it and it is negated by Horn of Heaven, you wouldn't be able to revive it...me thinks. =) Its an interesting situation. I may be wrong. =) Perhaps someone else can verify.

As Mortals said it is already in the Damage Step so "Horn of Heavens" can't be activate.

Now in regard of negating a Jowgen being special summoned just check this from the card registry :

[quote author=Card Registry]
"Horn of Heaven" may only be used to negate a Special Summon that is the direct result of the effect of a monster. "Horn of Heaven" could negate the Special Summon of "Soul and Purity of Light", but not "Monster Reborn".

I once read some where (don't quite remember think it was in the Judge List) a post concerning a "Witch of the black Forest" being flip summoned and negated by "Horn of Heavens"/"Solemn Judgment", it said the effect of "Witch of the black Forest" don't activate in this case because it is considered that it was never on the field.

Going by this may be possible the "Dark Necrofear" wouldn't be able to be special summoned from the graveyard"¦ but I just don't know.

Horn of Heaven and Solemn Judgment are Counter Trap Cards and can be activated in the Damage Step.

However, the can only negate a summon of a card by its own effect.  Jowgen coming out by Shining's effect could not be negated by Horn/Judgment.

Horn of Heaven:
Offer 1 of your own monsters on the field as a Tribute to negate the summon (including Special Summon) of a monster and destroy it.

Solemn Judgment:
Pay half of your Life Points when your opponent either activates a Spell or Trap Card or summons a monster (including Special Summon) to negate the action and destroy the cards involved.

Dark Necrofear:
This card can only be Special Summoned by removing 3 Fiend-Type monsters in your Graveyard from play. When this card is destroyed in battle or by your opponent's card effect, it is treated as an Equip Spell Card at the end of the turn. Equip 1 of your opponent's monsters with this card. As long as it is equipped with this card, you control the equipped monster.

Since Horn/Judgment "destroy" Necrofear, and because it was properly summoned earlier, it's effect will activate.

If, instead the Necrofear was sent to the hand instead of being flipped face down, then you would have to remove 3 more fields to get her back out on the field.

Oh yeah...nvm, counter trap. I'm an idiot sometimes. =)

The first effect of Jowgen on soecial summons will not affect itself. However, if during your turn, you choose to activates its secondary effect of destroying special summoned monsters, assuming that jowgen was special summoned as well, then it would go Boom too. :( Poor Jowgen.

EDIT: It came to me while I was having lunch. For some stupid reason, I was thinking of Bottomless Trap Hole when i said what I said. Now that I have some Grubby in my Tummy, my mind is clearer.

Anyway, The reason Horn of Heaven/ Solemn Judgement willl not work on the 1400 searchers is because their activation oocurs in the GY, not on the field and isn't there for SJ/HoH to chain to to negate. At least....thats what that piece of shrimp told me.

Anyway, thought on my theory???

Now that most of the issues of these situations have been clarified. I want to talk about Cyber Jar.

- Cyber Jar is Flip Summoned.
- No answer. The chain resolves.
- Cyber Jar destroys all monsters on the field.
- Player A summons his/her monsters in face-up attack position.
- Player B tries to use Horn of Heaven / Solemn Judgment on some of the special summoned monsters.

Player B can't do that because Cyber Jar's effect has not been completely resolved. Besides, Solemn Judgment and Horn of Heaven negate Special Summons ONLY, not all the monster's effects. If the HoH/SJ that player B would work, Cyber Jar's effect would be, somehow, partially negated. This is something not possible.

As somewan said, it negates a summon of a card by its own effect.

Seafood always lies/ Take for example the fish with the wish. Horn of Heaven VS Monster Reborn and Horn of Heaven VS Marauding Captain.

It's like you answered that in the same post:
