Hydrogeddon destroy a monster. The Hydrogeddon summoned by effect of first Hydrogeddon is summoned in Damage Step?

Thanks

It should be AFTER damage step, cause it have to send the destroyed monster to the graveyard, and sending the destroyed monster to the graveyard is a bit after damage calculations.

For example, if Hydrogeddon destroys a face-down Night Assailant or Old Vindictive Magician, Hydrogeddon cannot pull out another Hydrogeddon if the player uses it's effect to destroy that Hydrogeddon.

But I think it'll be different for Newdoria, since both effects are activated at the same time. I heard something like you can put the chain of order so you can activate Hydrogeddon first and then Newdoria later. (Cause Newdoria is mandatory while Hydrogeddon is optional.)

But I'm not a judge. You should wait till one of the judges answers your question also. I might be wrong.

The Hydrogeddon summoned by the effect of the Hydrogeddon that destroyed a monster in Battle, will be summoned in the Damage Step. That is where his effect resolves.

So no Bottomless Trap Hole or Torrential Tribute.

If I am not mistaken, Newdoria's effect can only destroy the original 'geddon. And it is after it's effect activates so the 2nd 'geddon is still summoned successfully. Has to do with Newdoria's mandatory effect and priority, I am sure someone else can explain it more thoroughly.

Well, yeah. No BTH, Torrential/etc on Hydrogeddon summon cause it's just like Recruiter summons with Tomato/Rat/etc. I guess it's part of the damage step, but like way later part of the damage step, not the earlier part of the damage step. (Isn't there like 6 steps in the damage step?) Like say both Sangan and Don Zaloog effect kicks in the damage step but Don's effect kicks in first and then Sangan if Zon attacks a ATK position Sangan.

Yes, it's true, and I happen to have the order bookmarked ^_^

So you see, vindictive activates its effect a good deal before "Hydrogeddon" since it's a flip effect, but "Newdoria" activates when it's sent to the graveyard, exactly where hydro activates. You can't decide whether to use "Newdoria"'s effect or not, so that's mandatory, it goes on chain link 1, so that means hydro is Chain Link 2, and resolves first. The reason you can't target the 2nd hydro is because "Newdoria" says "select a monster", which means it's an activation requirement kinda thing, you have to select the monster for the effect, before your opponent gets to do anything like chain. This is similar to having to select a monster when "Zaborg the Thunder Monarch" is summoned, or "Call of the Haunted", is chained to.

Alright, that should handle it. I've noticed how a Metagame Article comes out, and suddenly some person asks the same questions they answered in the article. I guess understanding is a more difficult process. At least us (the guys that answer these) have something to go on.

Often, we absorb what we read, but we don't process it. That requires meditation. Not the "ohm", yoga kind of meditation, but the kind where you quietly sit and ruminate over what you've read. Few people have the time and/or patience to do this, so the info doesn't quite click right away. So we resort to the next best thing to meditation. Discussion.
