Injection Fairy Lily

If my opponent declares an attack with his Injection Fairy Lily on my face down monster, does he have to declare whether or not he is boosting before I flip over my monster, or can he wait to see what my monster is?

Also, can someone give me a detailed list of what goes on in what step and when from the point of declaration of an attack until the attack ends. I am a little confused as to what order things belong in. I have heard so many different interpretations. For instance, does a monster get a flip effect first, or is battle damage calculated first? Things like that. Or can you direct me to where I'd find a clearer breakdown?
