If my opponent attacks and i activate Interdimensional Matter Transporter, taking it out of play before my opponent's attack hits, is the attack stopped or do i take damage if the monster was the only one on my side of the field? If its not the only monster on my field does my opponent's attack hit another one of my monsters or not?

REPLAY RULES (that is what i think :D)

A Replay occurs when the number of monsters on your opponent's side of the field changes prior to the Damage Step. When a Replay occurs, you return to the beginning of the current Battle Step. At that point, you can choose a monster to attack with and a target, activate a Quickplay Spell or Trap Card, etc. as if the attack was never really declared.

so my opponent gets to choose a new monster to attack? What if i have no monsters on the field?

Your opponent gets to choose what monster to attack with and what to attack, if they choose to attack at all. They can basically do whatever they want that is possible during the Battle Phase as if they hadn't declared the attack that the number of monsters on your side of the field changed in response to.
