IOC Packs sux. I think I bought like 30 packs and I didn't get 1 Chaos Emp D or a BLS ETOB. I am pissed whenever I think about it? What do you guys get pissed about? I like to rant.

If you mean the special Ed. pack they are rather annoying since you tend to get the same holos in them time and time again, and since the same happens to other you can't even trade the things away easily.

No I mean the regular IOC packs. I bought like 30 of them and I didn't get BLS or CED

Do you realise how small the odds of getting a specific Ultra Rare are?
For IOC 1:12 chance of getting an Ultra Rare, 10 different Ultra Rares, so a 1:120 chance of getting any specific Ultra Rare in IOC.

As to the chances of getting an Secret I've heard everything from 1:72 to about 1:108 so you'd small chances of getting one anyway.

So buying 30 you had a 1:4 chance of getting a Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning and about a 1:2.5 -> 1:3.5 chance of getting a CED-EotE, either way your odds were less than 50% for either.

I bought a booster box and didn't get an Enovy or DMoC so don't worry about it.

You might as well just buy the card online.

Pulling specific cards is tough. However, my roommate has pulled 3 BLS-Envoy's. I couldn't belive it. I still can't. Esepcially since he hates chaos decks.

I have had the same problem with IOC, I have tried pulling a BLS-EOB before and have had NO luck. I have probably purchased at least 2 boxes worth of booster packs. Then again that is the way that it goes, it is just all the luck of the draw. I had the same problem with DCR when I was after Shinato and eventually gave up and bought him over EBay.

Same here. I opened two boxes of IOC and bought another 30-40 packs and never pulled a BLS. Got a CED & DMoC in my very first box though. I ended up buying both my BLSs from ebay.

Here's an even worse one though. Between me and a friend, we've opened 6 boxes of FET & not a single Phoenix amongst them. I have 3x SS Lv5, 2x Gearfried, and 1 Gatling Dragon, but still no chicken. And FET is only half the size of IOC.

That sucks, sorry to hear it. And you're probably fully aware of the problem I have with these tiny sets right now as you undoubtedly have a huge amount of spare commons which no-one else wants since they too are stuck with a ridiculous amount of those commons too. Leaves you with a pile of untradeable trades. :(

Yeah, that is what's crazy about the smaller sets. There are not as many cards but you still have a heck of a time getting your hands on certain ones. I know I did not start buying sealed boxes till AST and I did not get all that great of pulls from that set. SOD I ended up getting a complete set of Horus dragons and a few other really good cards. RDS I just ended up getting quite a few SE packs to get the 4 variants (which I never did get all 4) and the Champion boxes from Wal-Mart which I finally pulled an Exiled Force out of. Then I got my FET box and got plenty of great cards from the set but it would have been nice to get the Phoenix and Gatling Dragon but didn't. Instead I ended up with Gearfried, Blast Magician, Lightning Vortex, DDS, King Dragun, Feather of Phoenix, and Behemoth.

But that is just the way that it goes, you can have the best luck in the world when it comes to pulling foil cards but you also have to have the luck of pulling the right cards.

You're not kidding. After buying 16 packs the other day, I pulled out what I wAnted and was sitting there with a stack of commons, all of which I have at least 12 of by now, and I just looked at a buddy of mine who just started playing with the Zombie Structure and said, "The thought of filing all these away after just getting done filing the last two boxes worth is just killing me...you want em?"

Of course, he snatched them up in a hurry, and I'm glad somebody could get some use out of them, but geeze, for me, buying another box would just be spending $75 for 6-7 holos and a large stack of bird cage liner. At this point, I'm better of trying to trade for the sacred chicken.

This is one of the great things about Ebay, I'm running out of space in my room for more spare cards, so once I have the commons I can just stick to buying individual cards. Kinda sums up the tradeability of the sets commons when you can buy the complete set of commons from it for less that the price of a single booster... :(

i had the same problem with MFC and IOC (Dark Magician Girl and BLS). i eventually traded some kid for his BLS (gave him a japanese DMG)...

i also bought like, 6 RDS special edition boxes and got 3 Vampire Lords, 2 Diffusion Wave-Motions, and 1 judegment of anubis. no DMG...

but it is a lot cheaper to either:

a) buy a scale -or-
b) just buy a single then buying 30 packs.

do the math: 30 * 3.99 = $119.70

single BLS card: ~$45-65

you almost couldve got 2, duelz...

In my area its 3 bucks per pack so that means the 30 packs cost me 90 dollars. And a BLS in my area cost me 45. I def could have gotten two BLS but its more of a waste buying one card. I don't know its my opinion.

For me it's €2.50-3.50 per pack, depending on volume and if bought on-line or which shop I buy the boosters from (suffices to say that I prefer to buy in bulk on-line when I can!).
A Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning would cost about €35-40 so that'd be ~11-12 Packs normally but I can get the IOC-SE packs for €6.99 so it'd be ~5 of them, 5 x 3 = 15 packs

its more amature of getting your moneys worth.

in the end you spent 90 bones on 30packs * 9cards per pack = 270 cards

which in the end is alot better than spending 90 bones on 2 cards.

dude, did you buy the box? or did you buy just packs alone? If you bought the packs alone then the odds of you getting said card is alot harder since the ration is now mixed around.

if you bought a 36 count box then you probably would have gotten the dragon.

if you bought a 24 count box then you probably would have gotten the Soldier.

My friend got a free box of ioc back then it was 24 count and he ended up with the soldier.

in a draft again same 24 count box i got a DMOC.

over all its either one or the other. :D

Box count doesn't really matter when looking for a Soldier, he's an Ultra not a Secret. And a 36 count retail box would have contained Invader not CED...(were they still making 36ct boxes when IOC came out?)

Maybe BLS is a secret secret rare 8^D. I've been through about 5 or 6 boxes recently of IOC and have 2 CEDs and one DMOC. No Bacon Lettuce Soldier...Go fig 8^D
