The following rulings on Geartown seem to countradict each other....or I'm not understanding something...
Geartown
Rulings:
If you control "Geartown" and you activate a new Field Spell Card, you cannot activate "Geartown's" effect when it is destroyed because it misses the timing. However, if you Set a new Field Spell Card, you can activate "Geartown's" effect when it is destroyed.
If my reasoning is sound...
If I have an active or set Geartown and I actiavate a new field spell card, my existing Geartown is destroyed and sent to the graveyard simultainiously in conjunction with my new field spell card resolving to the field......Therefore, the last thing to happen was the destruction of Geartown and Geartown should get it's effect.
If, however, I have an active or set Geartown and I wish to set a new field spell card, I must first destroy my existing Geartown before setting my new field spell card......Therefore, Geartown going to the graveyard was not the last event to happen, the setting of the new field spell card was the last thing to happen and the timing is missed for the effect of Geartown.
Am I missing something here or are the bolded Geartown rulings reversed?
